Many years ago I considered signing up for the Rose Cross or Rosicrucian literature and school of thought. What kept me from following through was this inner voice that had admonished me for years not to “join any religion or school of thought.” Once I awakened, I understood the purpose for me in my life for why this needed to be so, afterwhich the inner voice explained once I got a decade in that this would no longer be necessary. I wasn’t going to throw myself into the dogma or belief of any system at that point. As a result, I was able to begin researching other traditions for clues about illumination and /or enlightenment.

As an outgrowth of this, this video was sent to me and I think you might find it interesting. It is only a primer, but it helps to show how there is a universal phenomenon that has been seen in all the religions and schools of thought which boils down to a non-religious knowledge about body and soul (and all both contains) that I think could be understood in a more plain and objective way while realizing that it leads to themost vivid and deep levels of feeling. So here is the video. Let me know what you think.

This was a question that came up a while ago and it was something I was certain was obvious to anyone who would be around me after whatever it was that had happened to me: blast of light, lightening strike, rocket engines taking off, take your pick of what “that” thing was that happened on that fateful day that left you in deep mystery about what had happened.  Well it was kundalini, that’s what.  I was asked if this energy was obvious to others and it triggered an old memory I had those first few weeks after my awakening. And the answer is no.  Those not awake will not feel your energy.  Okay, mostly. Sometimes they can.  Alright, that didn’t sound very clear, did it?

Clearly, no one was feeling my energy. I literally thought that I had a giant neon sign over my head that first month after the energy raised.  I really felt exactly that way until I realized, no, no one was picking up on this!  What a relief!

Except that as time went on, I began to see clusters of curious behavior that suggested that some people, not everyone, was feeling something. I wasn’t sure at first, so I did what I always do: I sat back and observed to see if I could gather enough data on the subject that would inform me more one way or the other.  All of this took a while, it didn’t happen overnight.  So the answer here is that in some cases, yes, some people can.  Mostly, they don’t. Clear as mud?  Read on.

This is why it may be that you might want to be aware of this when or if someone starts acting weird around you.  It seems that there is a range of reactions in my experience.  It tends to be either a bliss response (or approaching that-say an unusual attraction or enthusiasm in your direction) or the opposite, which could present itself along the lines of anger, upset, frustration, and fear.  I am telling you this because it has been an observation of mine and it might help to clarify some odd instances of how some people will react to you.  I have had both.  I really wish that it was more nuanced, but in my experience it usually isn’t, at least for me.  People here are not mature enough to know how to deal with the energy that could catalyze their own flow of prana in themselves.  I am hopeful that this trend will change and I think that if it is going to change, now would be the time in our history that it would do so (fingers crossed).  To do this, I think that we need people who are more accepting and surrendered in their lives.

In The Garden1

In my garden…

I think that the best thing to always do is to remain neutral when it happens.  Someone is responding to something in you a certain way and my sense is that it can move them to extremes.  I now prefer to keep my bliss to myself and not have hitchikers or hijackers along for the ride. For those who act more peaceful and give me that look that tells me they are spellbound, I have to realize that they aren’t spellbound by me at all, they are actually responding to their own insides and how it makes them feel.  Yes, in some cases they may think it is coming form me, and in a sense they are right, but what they feel as a result of that actually has more to do with their own capacity to feel what they are capable of when it comes to a flow of prana and the bliss it can bring.  In short, when someone is feeling prana that might be attributed to me they are feeling it in their own world on their own.  It is like how we are all breathing the same air.  Is the air me? Is it you?  Well now perhaps you can see how silly it might be to think the air comes from someone like myself or anyone for that matter.

I will add one caveat to all of this, which is that you can project this energy to a person. The energy body is not limited to location, and this is why people can do reiki atunements, or why the power of prayer can make sudden changes in outcomes.  We can send energy to people, yes, it is true, but I don’t know that we really know everything there is to know about how this even works from an energy standpoint, we just knows that it can and does work. Are we sending energy or are we communicating with that person’s own higher self or energy body and they accept the idea that there is more energy available to them?  I say this in the way I do because it is like me bringing you a bucket of water that I just filled from a boundless ocean just fifty feet away from us.  Do you see what I mean by that? Am I actually sending energy or am I sending the suggestion that more energy could be available to them, and because they pick up on it, they do….and they do this based on my own thought of sending X amount of energy to them? And who knows, it could be a bit of both.  I really wish we were further along in our study of this energy than we are.  I suppose we could set up experiments to make some important determinations about how this all works. Okay, I know, you probably think I am just splitting hairs, here.  You might be right, but this is what I think about because I have always taken this attempt at being objective and asking lots of questions that maybe most don’t think to ask, but might be worth looking into if only for curiosities’ sake.

The best thing to my mind is to always bring it back to the person so they don’t focus on you as the source when these odd interactions happen.  There are gentle ways that you can do this and it all has to do with intention.  If they can feel the vibe then they can also pick up, perhaps subconsciously, your intention which might be that while you might inspire the energy, the energy is theirs.  If there is a conversation, keep bringing the talk back to how great it is that they are feeling what they feel and how it is something that they are doing and how great is that?  I have had people ask me if I was doing something to them.  I said each time that no, I was not doing something to them.  Instead, I would say, I was just serving as inspiration, nothing more.  I think this is correct and also keeps everything appropriate.  People can get hung up on the small truth and not be able to see the bigger truth that is looming.

I went through a period, a very definite one, where I was literally turning heads.  This started to happen when I was myself at peace with the energy flowing through me.  I just let it flow and didn’t worry about it. As a result, I felt so much better.  It was a breakthrough for me, actually.  I was able to embrace the inherent sensuality of the experience without feeling like I needed to tamp it down or feel shame about it. Its odd to think that I once felt shame about something so incredible, but I did.  But once that was being released,  and this happened quite suddenly in my life, I noticed how all of a sudden I would have these really quite comical things happen to me with the people around me.  It was the double-take or the rubberneck effect as I think of it. Maybe you have experienced this.  I might be walking down the street or driving in my car and I would see these people craning their necks to look at me.  In many cases these were people looking in my general direction with a look like they were trying to find something.  I had many instances where a woman would walk past me and would turn on her heel to scan the street in my direction as soon as she passed me, with a looks like she was trying to find something but had no idea what it was she as looking for, only to give up and keep walking. It was worth a giggle or two, yes.  I knew it wasn’t me, it was the energy.  If it had only happened once or twice it would not have meant much to me, but it was happening multiple times a day during a particular period in my process.

I have also experienced the dark side of what this energy can do to people.  I knew two people who quite literally wanted to destroy me because of it.  Both behaved nearly identically and instead of being able to part as friends, they had to demonize me just to move forward.  I also saw that as I removed blocked energy one ex would go into fits of rage within a 12 hour period of each block that I removed.  I have written about this before on the blog.  I counted nine times in a row where I had released blocked material and the person I was with would go into this rage meltdown each time within about a 12 hour period each and every time.  It continued to happen, but nine times in a row was enough for me to make a causal connection to what was happening.  There was NOTHING that I did to cause the person to go into a rage meltdown.  It was always something that she had somehow procured within herself as the source of the problem.  You just never knew who she was going to focus her rage at at any given time.  So there is that.  Usually in these cases, in my experience, there is always some kind of resistance in the person that precludes them from embracing whatever this seemingly disruptive energy means for them on a personal level.

People who are resistant to change will tend I think (just my own opinion thus far) to go into the negative range of expression or reaction.  Either you realize this and seek to engender a more compassionate understanding and patient approach with encouragement, or you just leave well enough alone.  In my case, I knew that nothing I could do would amount to any substantive change in their reaction.  And it is just that-a reaction-so don’t beat yourself up about it. It really isn’t about you.  It is very easy to hop on their karmic merry-go-round and then get caught up in their own pattern, which can be very hard for you.  It is sometimes better to leave well enough alone.

Those are my two cents on the matter. I think that if you yourself go in the direction of using it to your advantage, this will only result in bad karma, so please don’t do that.  Let it be what it is, a sign, an indication, but nothing more.

There is another instance where your own energy is affecting another person and this is what I would call the twin experience.  Some call it twin flames or twin souls or rays, take your pick. In this case, two people have become effectively entangled in their soul energy where a significant degree of telepathy is involved. These in my experience have always been karmic in nature even though those who have been so affected will hold out for this being something divine. While it leads to our divinity, it is a connection to the soul-self which operates under a very different sort of premise than the self in time and space (in this lifetime).  As a result, there is an overpowering draw to that person that goes beyond mere location and transcends the physical senses. It feels significant, and it is, but it is what happens when two people become connected, and it is always because of karma.  If anyone can illustrate situations where there is no karma whatsoever in one of these connections, I would like to learn more about that case because I have yet to see an instance where karma is not involved as the trigger into the experience.  It isn’t that I am narrow minded, it is that I have looked and observed and experienced this phenomenon and at no point have I found a compelling reason to say that this is a horse of a different color beyond karma being one important element in kicking off the connection.  So I am open to having my mind changed, I just haven’t seen it happen yet.

These are unusual instances and are unique to the two people involved, although there are many cases where once someone has had one connection, they may wind up with another, or several.  Again, all have karmic material at its foundation. That isn’t to say it is bad, not at all.  It does present challenges, though, very real ones, and you should be aware of this.  It can lead to loving their soul but having real challenges that are nearly diametrically opposed to that soul which feels perfect to you about who that person is in their present life. This leads to a conundrum for people in relationships like this.  It is, to my mind, a call to learning how to step into the soul-self in a more embodied and authentic way.  This takes real work to do and it can take a lot of time and requires a lot of patience.  The soul, though, will always seem beyond your reach in this lifetime for the simple reason that it does not exist in time, but rather projects parts of itself into time in order to become flesh.  In so doing, there is a new version of the soul created with a personality and a body, all of which were chosen in order to hopefully achieve certain specific goals. The soul does not appear to have any of this. It just IS.  I suspect this is why we reincarnate in the first place, which is to work through things that the soul cannot in its no-time-space state.  There is a song that says, “In heaven, nothing ever happens at all…” and there is a certain truth to this.  How do you have things happen when there is no time or space?  Where is there to go when you can be aware of being potentially everywhere and everywhen?  It seems the soul needs these projections in order to focus itself more narrowly, to take on roles, conditions, and the mask of personality in order to work through certain dramas central to its needs and concerns, whatever those might be.

Those are my two cents on the phenomenon, and it isn’t to strip it of its meaning or importance, only to leaven it with what I think is an important ingredient so that we don’t have a blindside to some important aspects of the experience.  There might just be a very real reason why you react and respond to the Other the way that you do especially when it is a negative reaction.  That bit of resistance that you are feeling is pointing out  the work you need to do most likely. I think this is the only way these unions will ever see a significant level of peace within them, which is to say they could be a call to change, real substantive change.  Otherwise, you will be caught up in the maelstrom of your own triggers, all karmic in their foundation, and it is possible you will be something like those people I discuss earlier who would go into melt-down after melt-down.  If you have had an experience along these lines, I am all ears (and eyes).  I am open to learning more, so if you have something to add, I would love to hear about it.

Blessings, P.

Restless Leg Syndrome is a condition that many people experience. It can be a distracting sensation, which is often a desire to shake or move their legs, although there are other symptoms that are also part of this syndrome. Because of my posts on leg chakras, some readers have wondered if there is a connection between our vital energy (prana or chi) and restless leg syndrome. I have begun to wonder about it myself as a result of reading comments from readers.

While I cannot say for certain, what I can say is that there are a few coincidental elements that might connect the two. If there is, it will most likely be related to how blocked energy can be present in the legs. What I mean by this is that it has been known that for whatever reason, there appears to be a connection between past repressed emotion and certain places in the body that will seem to store that energy until it is released, which generates emotional relief for those who do this kind of work. I will say, however, that while I have myself experienced hundreds of these releases of stored emotional energy and understand the many ways that it can be released, I have not made a clear connection between that and RLS. What I do know is how much harder it is to release the blocked energy in the legs. I suspect that because of their distance from the core of the body that their energetic potential is different, perhaps less intense, and as a result, more difficult to bring changes in the same way that are seen in the core or torso region where the “larger” more powerful chakras as located.

The thing about the chakra system and the vital energy system in general is that it is not an entirely physical system. This energy system, while appearing a lot like nerve channels to those who can sense them, are not physical in the way that nerves or the vascular system is. It is one reason why modern science does not take the subject seriously despite the fact that the Chinese have carefully mapped out these energetic lines throughout the body with such specificity that their mapping has brought us the meridian system that is used for acupuncture and acupressure therapies that hospitals often use because they have found that they work for certain conditions. They don’t pretend to know why it works, only that it does and because this is minimally invasive, they use it. Additionally, in India, this same system was also mapped out and are instead called “nadi” instead of “meridian.” The nadi were known to house blocked or stored emotion and the ladder of yoga as it is referred to often details exercises intended to dislodge this blocked material from the nadi system. But it is the very same thing as the Chinese system, but with the addition of the chakras, which are described as being like wheels, and all sorts of illustrations have been made down through the centuries to help people to visualize them (like lotus or other flower forms for instance). While the Indian system does not appear to identify the points along the meridians that the Chinese use for needling in acupuncture in order to open up blocked energy pathways, neither does the Chinese system conceive or acknowledge a wheel-like vortex called a chakra either. I suspect that this is a cultural difference, and may also be attributed to what the adepts were doing, an outcome of their abilities and their focus when it came to subtle energy like prana or chi.

That said, being able to divest this energy that is stored from the body has as its end result in helping to release the stored burden upon the psyche or of the self. It is liberating to do this work, and it has the effect of shifting the physical chemistry in a long-term fashion of the body, which has positive effects on physical and mental health.

Consider if you have stored fear or anxiety, psychologists know that this stored or repressed memory has a recursive nature that can stay with a person their whole life if the issue isn’t dealt with. Every time that the person is triggered, so too is a burst of adrenaline or norepinephrine released, which puts the body into a pitched flight-like mode which most associate with fear. If allowed to be triggered often, the body wears under such a condition and disease of a degenerative nature could creep in if this trigger is, exercised often. The body does best in stasis or a balanced state.

What medical science has to say on the subject is best summed up by this article about a potential breakthrough in understanding the physiology of the condition which was published in November 2018 in Science Daily:

This new research indicates that the involuntary leg movements in RLS are caused by increased excitability of the nerve cells that supply the muscles in the leg, which results in an increased number of signals being sent between nerve cells.

Targeting the way messages are sent between nerve cells to reduce the number of messages to normal levels may help prevent the symptoms of RLS occurring. This could be achieved by new drugs that block the ion channels that are essential for the communication between nerve cells.

The research conducted by the University of Gottingen in conjunction with the University of Sydney and Vanderbilt University involved measuring the nerve excitability of motor nerve cells of patients suffering with RLS and healthy subjects.

The next step is to investigate the effect of different medications in patients and the effect on RLS.

If RLS can be attributed to chi in the body, then a treatment will most often be more of a bandaid, a therapy that would likely never change the condition itself, but would bring relief through taking a chemical into the body that aids in the ionic actions that the quote describes. While it may be possible that vital force of chi/prana could have a role to play in stimulating RLS chemistry in the body, it could prove helpful to investigate alternative therapies before using chemistry.

So is there any relief produced using acupuncture or variants of it? It turns out that it has been used. The following article, while technical, provides the point locations used in a therapy and could be reproduced with a skilled acupuncture therapist. I will note that the article describes both acupuncture and what they call “acuinjection” of a synthetic dopamine-like compound (from the look of it) into the acupuncture point. Anyway, it may be worth reading to learn more about this technique. It can be found here:

In this article the result was that an extensive study did not return a conclusive result.

I hope that this helps those who have inquired about this topic. I had hoped to have had an opportunity to speak with a noted energy healer while on the Hawaiian islands in March, but we wound up not covering this topic before the trip ended. My hope is that I will be seeing this healer again but this time in California before too much longer and will see if I can make a video of the encounter. Since uncertainty with Covid continues, no specific date is set, but it has been a topic of our discussion but we were so busy that we had trouble fitting it in on our last meeting. Hopefully I will be able to put something up in the next few months.

~Parker

Twelve years in and I have had enough water under the bridge to see how all the work I spent clearing away the dross has impacted my life.

I can say that for as challenging the early stages can be, sticking with it has its benefits. Awakening led me to an undeniable awareness that I had made many compromises in my earlier life that came back to bite me once I could no longer live the old way. Not living the old way simply no longer was tenable once awakening came. This wasn’t just caprice, a desire to be different, but was itself a fundamental return to a basic ground state that had become, to some degree, self-evident.

What was interesting to me as awakening got underway was that the mere presence of awakening in me was showing every sign of affecting those in my life who didn’t align to the presence of my own truth. I thought this curious effect was my imagination at first, but as awakening proceeded it was clear that as I released old karmic material, it served to unsettle others who did not fit this truth, what the Polynesians call “Pono” which means correct alignment.

I should explain that this was not merely the result of my behaving differently in front of others, but that there were deeper subconscious reactions taking place around me that were tied to my own inner work. I have described in previous posts how my then-spouse would go into emotional meltdowns as I privately released inner blockages in my own field of awareness, a reaction that I was able to see was causally tied to what I had been doing just the day before. I observed nine times in a row that this took place over a three month period, each resulting in her going into a temporal meltdown each time. These events continued beyond the nine, but I stopped counting after nine times because I felt I had already met the burden of proof for myself at that point.

This was the crazy world of my awakening, an awareness of this underlying truth of what we all are that began to emerge even though I was living in a toxic environment that favored slumber and dysfunction of those around me. To see how they sought to demonize it (awakening) and me, I saw graphically just how off they were. I was able to see how deception and dishonesty was raised in order to attempt to keep the old regime up and running. It was sad back then, and hard to take because I was the butt of these efforts at keeping the lid on a poisonous can of worms. This helped me to see how buried we can all be in beliefs that limit us all. I would lose an important reationship with a child who was swept up in this web of deceit. It sound so cloak and dagger saying it this way, but it was just as if a child’s mind had been swept up in a net of belief: all-encompassing, and enclosing on all sides with untruths an gaslighting. My eyes were opened wide to how humans do business here.

After a serious injury the same year that awakening came, I was unable to work and the economic debacle of 2008 the following year made clear that this was a major turning point in many ways for me. Like it or not, I was being put into an environment where my eyes would be opened more and more by having time to myself to reflect on my life. If you knew me pre-awakening, you knew someone who worked long hours trying to grow his business who had his head buried in the sand. With my seventy-hour work week suddenly behind me, I had to see what was now clearly in front of me.

In a psychic reading many years later, this time period was described as my being made into a sacrificial lamb. This characterization seemed odd at first, but as I reflected on what this reader had told me, it made a lot of sense in the end. This is what we ALL do when someone presents us with a view of truth we are not ready to face: we dismiss and sometimes even demonize it. We literally begin to project the falsehoods of our own inner deceits on others as if they belong to those people. It’s so strange how we do this, isn’t it?

I was to focus on awakening. I did. I was able, in the end, to spend time on it alone. Life made it happen. While things might have seemed dire to others, I had this feeling like everything was going to be alright. That was one of the most important time periods in my life. My time in the wilderness.

I was able to see that the life I thought I had didn’t fully conform to reality. I was blinded by hope instead of illuminated by clear seeing. I spent easily a year free from the life I thought I had to reflect and absorb what was happening to me. I wish everyone could do this, just take off a year and meditate, commune with nature, and be with people of like mind.

Like clockwork, whenever something was needed, the universe provided. When I thought about finding work someone I didn’t know contacted me about a job that was perfect for me. I landed the job and it helped me to develop my teaching skills, an important step in the next phase of my work. But before that, I had been carefully cared for even though it didn’t seem that way to others. It allowed me an unprecedented gaze into the mysteries of this phenomenon that is awakening and how it was slowly but surely taking me apart and putting me back together again.

I learned that those to whom I was connected were not really able to see me for who I was despite the innextricable deep soul ties that we had. I saw that what probibited this clear knowing was always their own inner baggage. I myself also had my own baggage, and awakening, while clearing me of it, did not clear all of it in one magical twinkling, but was instead a process. Storms of energy would sweep through, and each time less and less remained. More peace took its place each time, but this was gradual. It was fast by any other standard, but still it was a process. I was able to see how someone so close to me could know so little while inserting so much into the narrative that didn’t belong. We see not what is there, but rather by way of our own inner dialogues which we take as the truth. Say this to anyone when it seems to matter and they think you are mad.

I learned that when people aren’t ready to face truth, they will project. It does no good to point out the truth. People are only ready when they are ready.

The mere presence of connection does not mean that there is a purpose or destiny in it, only that there is something in me that is not fully resolved at a karmic level, and that these karmic entanglements are at the heart of the soul connection phenomenon…the twin flame or whatever your term dejour is for it.

Awakening plus karma is a combination that makes it possible to feel and see the other’s soul. The soul, unimited, perfect, standing outside of time can feel like it can be almost anything to the earthly man or woman because it already is. This leads to a deep “fall” into love that feels cosmic, destined, and more intens than anything you could ever dare imagine. In fact, this mixture is so strong it can lead a person (like me) to fall deeply in love with someone I wouldn’t normally be attracted to. People wrongly assume that bliss only serves lofty divine things. It is lofty because it does not divide or judge, but offers itself to all.

In one case for me, a connection was forced. You might think there is no way this could happen, but it absolutely did. It was true that I had known this person before this forced coupling took place and I had no underlying fascination with this person previous to this event. How this went down showed me that a soul connection is not destiny but in fact can be manufactured when the right ingredients are present. It is made all the stronger by a preponderance of karma that can be passed to the other person in this entangling of twinning process.

While others get lost in the foreverness of these connections, I saw that it instead was simply a mechanism for unlocking soul potential and that this had little to do with destiny at all. I know this throws cold water on the entire topic, but I can say if it happened to me, I am not merely an anomoly. In fact, I found an entire community of people who suspected that this phenomenon was not all as it seemed. They attributed the phenomenon to an outside agency or force that had less than perfect intentions. I don’t agree with their take on the phenomenon either, since I see as many holes in the argument as there are in other “twin” descriptions out there today. I think I fall into a middle way that states that the universe is neutral. Our actions serve to form our destiny, which is also to say that each of us can change what lies before us.

Entanglement (“twinning”) is a phenomenon that can occur when all the right set of requirements are met. The universe does not care if the ingredients are positive or negative, only that they are present. If so, an entanglement can take place. The ingredients that are used determine the intensity of the entanglement. The ingredients can be our own innability to see the truth and thus whatever that karma represents in specific feeds into the entanglement. The problem, though, is you can have a direct line to a person’s soul while the personality is itself extremely polarized from the higher self to the point where earthly self and higher self bear little resemblance to one another. This happened to me.

My experience was with someone who resisted her transformation instead of embracing it to the degree that she could have. Still, awakening is difficult for all of us and we do what we can do. All of this opened my eyes to show me that even those who awaken can languish for years in the remaining karmic tangles they have set for themselves. I no longer needed to be their helper or savior. I also didn’t need any more deceit in my life, how one needs to make lies to cover their own unhealed condition. In fact, I was much better off alone instead of marinating in a desire to quell lonliness.

I found that true love arises out of aloneness, in owning our solitary state while seeing how everything is simultaneously wedded together even at the subatomic level. It is the higher levels in us that need the work, not the more fundamental ones.

By seeing how this person tried to blame her troubles on the world and me, I got a clear view on the depth of inner deception we can build around ourselves, even as we awaken. I had in my own way done similar things a few years before, but now I was rushing the exits. I had a little more perspective by this time.

I had been, for my part, unsettled by a lot that went down during awakening, unsure that I’d ever get back to my business again. Clearly, awakening could not be bothered about what I wanted. I was going to take this time to slow down whether I liked it or not. This resulted in my reaching states where I could tap into streams of pure information that I was able to use to further my development. These states came as blissful epiphanies where it was like I was being attended to by a cosmic librarian who would show me to books that would teach me about a host of subjects I knew litle about. In some cases, this “librarian” would push me in certain directions. Sitting by a river on rocks, my mind flipped through the pages of a world of living information existing as energy and described by the Hindus as the akashic records. Edgar Cayce had said he used these to perform his readings. Curiously, the way he described how he achieved this was exactly how I found myself accessing them. This techique is so simple, most don’t seem able to use them perhaps because it hasn’t occurred to them. I’m happy to convey this method, but it isn’t in the compass of this post.

In one instance, I was shown how matter is created from energy. This helped me to see how two complimentary energies served to form physical reality. The bottom line, the lesson, was that the universe was not just alive, but that it was based in play and bliss. It showed that creation is a cooperative unifying event that happens inside of us along the line of the Ida and Pengal currents and that we can also create in groups a well as with a singular other.

I was shown the role that the three brains have in learning how to utilize awakening to its best effect. These brains, the light explained or showed me, were the reptile, mammal, and primate brain all present in us as beings on the planet. It explained that no part of this system could be ignored, and explained how best to use each part of the brain in order to realize the best process. Denying their presence was a disastrous way to go, it explained, and it showed how to balance thought and feeling across them in order to harness them in what could be a new synthesis of consciousness where there is less fragmentated behavior. All parts had to present. The brain had a way to mirror higher order consciousness by kowing how to use what gifts we were bestowed with.

I was shown in another epiphany moment how the energy body and the neurophysiology are in some ways mirrors of each other. I was shown the role that the “zero point” energetically has with the way that the brain and body are arranged in order to mirror a very similar principle in brain wiring or mapping.

I am pointing these things out in order to illustrate how fleshed out all of this information was and that all I needed to tap it was a deep open bliss state coupled with a focus or desire to know more even though I knew little on the topic. I mention this because you can do it also. This was what a psychic who did a reading on me described as my ability to speak from the master realm. If I can do it, you can too, but it requires an ability to keep your mind a total blank slate or else you will fill it with information that does not belong. You have to constantly feel as though you are empty and constantly grasping for the material. You always do this blindly, always unassuming but excited in the heart that soon, its life/information will fill you. There is no determining or chewing or digesting in process as far as trying to determine what it all means as it is coming, you just soak it up first, then roll it around in your head later. No expectation of any outcome. This got easier the more I could trust the process.

In retrospect, I wouldn’t have changed anything. For years I lost my creative groove. I lost confidence and then discovered how easy it is to do that when surrounding yourself with toxic people. I had been using my creativity as a way to gain approval. Yuck! It all crashed and burned and was ressurected to what it is today, which sems to be much healthier and much more stable and dependent on no one’s say-so. It was me handing my power to another. Shame on me.

Now, over a decade later, I have recreated my lines of work in my business. I literally have all new work including the old standby’s. I am utilizing the internet for marketing, building community, and growing my business. This is a third incarnation of my business, first on a retail model, then wholesale, and now using the internet to do both. The thing is, it’s working. The steps are modest but each one is a step forward instead of backward. I have as many new designs created as designs that I had originally before all this happened.

For me now, I am using this new alignment of purpose less tangled from past karmic issues to help to manifest in a whole new way. While a yogi or yogini often would go on retreat, but we often do not have such luxuries. That said, I think that it would be brilliant if we had a Western inspired retreat facility where those awakened might attend to their new state with the right kind of support that such a state deserves.

Learning to read the aura is not hard to do when you know a few very basic techniques and things to look for in order to begin to tune in the energy field that is called the aura. This is the first installment of a two-part series that will delve into the subject based on my 30 years+ of experience and others who I have known over the years who have the same ability.

You will want to experiment on yourself first by sitting in a room that has diffuse lighting and a wall with a light, neutral, background. What you are looking for are few objects in the background that will disturb your view of your hands which will be what I will have you look at first. Once you have situated yourself in a room with a light wall in a room with diffuse light, I want you to raise your hands up in front of you so that they are resting comfortably and bring your hands together fingertip-to-fingertip and begin to look at them. This is not a usual kind of look, though.

The type of gaze that you want to cultivate for reading the aura is more like looking beyond the object. Your focus will need to be slightly beyond your hands even though you may be looking almost directly at them. You might say, “Huh?” Try it…and you might know what I mean.

There is a lot to be said for using peripheral vision and not the center focus of your vision for detecting the aura. In truth, the center of our eye focus tends to be fairly narrow once you start observing how you actually see. Doing this may not be natural to you at first, but it is a critical component in seeing energy fields. It is critical, I observe, because the part of your perception that is engaged in “scanning” is the part of your brain that will be most closely tied to translating the energy into a form that your awareness can work with and understand. This observation has come from over 30 years of reading energy and examining within myself the mechanisms that are at work.

This gaze that looks “past” the person is a gaze that has been used by people from many different walks and traditions. Shaman in healing rites can be observed using this same method when seeing into spirit as they look at the person being healed. Saints, prophets, and yogis, all have been known to exhibit this type of focus. It is not hard to do- a subtle defocusing is all that is required.

Scanning in this way is important, and you may need to practice it for a while to become comfortable with it. What can be helpful is to pick a spot on the far wall and hold your focus on that one spot while you gaze. The type of gaze will be one in which you will be looking at your hands but beyond your hands so that you are detecting your hands in your vision but not focusing on them directly. Then as you do this, place the tips of your fingers close together with the fingers on each hand slightly apart so that each finger on each hand will line up with the fingers of the other hand.

Now, slowly bring the hands in together until they are touching and then slowly draw the hands apart while you gaze in the way that I have just described to you. You will be looking for something that is extending beyond your hands and fingers as you draw them apart.

You will want to practice this a number of times because you will want to try different kinds of lighting conditions that will work best for you. This can also give you the opportunity to try this exercise while in different states of mind, too, to see which works best.
In my next installment, I will go into why your state of mind is important.

There is something to the fact that you should not be trying too hard to accomplish this seeing. It is better to have a calm and empty mind, relaxed, but not trying too hard as you do the gazing. If you try too hard, you will most likely wind up blocking your perception. Don’t try with your mind. Try only with the eyes and body awareness. I will go into body awareness more deeply in my next post.

Most often what people will see as they do this exercise is that they will begin to see slightly darker and lighter lines of force that run between the fingers from one hand to the other. The effect or the appearance of these lines will be extremely subtle and will almost seem as something similar to heat distortions that occur in the air as it rises off of the ground in the summer. This isn’t the only phenomenon you might see in the beginning.

Sometimes the effect of having looked at a brightly colored object and then looking away and having an after image burned onto your retina for several seconds can approximate some of the way an aura can appear to you. The trick here is in being able to differentiate between this “burning in” effect and actually seeing the aura. I say this because when you gaze in the way I have described, it is very easy to get a lot of instances of “burning in.”

The color or the energy will be very light and very subtle in the beginning (most likely). As you practice this and begin to see these very very subtle effects, it is possible that you might think that you are imagining it. Don’t let this throw you in any way because the truth is, your eyes do not have the ability to see such a fine form of energy as the aura! Even though it appears as though you are beginning to see them with your eyes, in all truth what is happening is that they appear to be seen. But the brain, which is now trained on the topic of energy, is put to the task of translating the energy that is coming in through your body (and energy field) and is active in creating an image that is consistent and that will make sense to you. This actually is the truly amazing part, which is that all psychic ability is the brain’s ability to translate energetic phenomenon into a sensory field of experience so that it makes sense to you physically. I will get more into this in my next installment to explain how this is so, so make sure you read the second installment.

As you practice in this way, you may also simply hold your hand up in front of you and gaze at it, slowly moving it in order to see if you can detect the aura around your hand. Holding the hand beginning at about arms length is a good distance to start with. In most cases, people will see no color but the appearance of some kind of small disturbance around the hand (in the beginning) which, again, will seem as though it’s a trick of the eyes, or maybe they’re imagining it. But when you see this effect, you want to pay attention to it, and observe it long enough to determine whether or not it is an afterimage (which is very possible because by gazing in the way that I have described to you, you may in fact get after images burned on your retina that will last for a time) or not. However, once you have begun to pick up the energetic phenomenon in the way that I just described to you, you can then move on to looking at different parts of your body and also looking at the energy around other people’s body.

It may be possible that after trying to see the aura in the way I have described, that you have no luck at it. In this case, it may be helpful to find a willing participant who will sit and let you practice this as you chat.

The best arrangement that I have found is that there should be at least four feet between the subject and a neutral back wall and 10-12 feet minimum between you and the subject. The best type of lighting is well-diffused. One of the best ways to get diffused light is either a room with many windows that scatters the light during the day so that the windows are not facing the Southern Exposure or you have a lamp that shoots the light on the ceiling that is far enough away from the subject that you do not create any hot spots in your vision.

I have found, as a result, that for as much as I dislike fluorescent lighting, I can see auras in this type of light rather easily. What I observe is that the nature of fluorescent lighting is that it is much more diffuse. There also appears to be some kind of effect on me the viewer when I am in fluorescent light and my ability to see auras. I noticed this early on several decades ago when I first began to see the human aura. I noticed that when I was in a classroom with a teacher at the front of the room, that the fluorescent lighting created a sense of non-local light. That is, that the light was coming from “everywhere” because of the nature of how fluorescent tubes work. However having said this, I have also been able to read people who were on stages giving talks and performing who were under very intense light such as spotlights and I have had no problem.

Experience is going to tell you what particular lighting environments work the best for you. I have always found that having some degree of distance between me and the subject is of great benefit. Sometimes sitting across the table from the person I am reading works as well as far away. It often depends on a host of factors including lighting, neutral backgrounds, and distance. Sometimes when one of these factors is optimal, one or more of the others may be less important.

What I suggest that you do is you simply try this same method, whatever you are using it on, your hands or whether you are watching or trying to read a person from a larger distance, the gaze is the same. When it comes to someone who is, say, 15 to 20 feet away, I will tend to look around their head or near their body but in fact what I’m doing is I’m picking a spot that isn’t at the center of their body but is actually a few inches away from the surface of their body. So, for example when I am reading the aura of someone, I will begin to gaze and look at their head, say. I will not be looking them in the eye, but will be gazing over their whole body. I will be using my peripheral vision in a much more localized way that is just beyond the center focus of my eyes, and I will pick a spot just to the right or to the left of their body. While my center focus is perhaps on a wall that is beyond their body, I will in fact be concentrating my awareness on the area around their body all at once. This is not always as easy as it sounds because it is the not the most natural way for us to look but it’s, again, very important that you create this defocused effect in your vision, and it may take some practice to cultivate it.

If you wear glasses, I would ask that you take them off prior to viewing the aura. Now I know that you might have very bad vision, and I am saying this because nearly every person that I have ever known who sees the aura has always had to take their glasses off in order to see them better. To explain why this is important, a quick story…

When I was in college I had a roommate who had extremely poor eyesight – you know those glasses that look like coke bottle glasses? Those were the type of glasses that my roommate John wore.  One day we were in our room and we were having a conversation, and I noticed that I was feeling this movement of my energy that I have always associated with healing energy. It suggested to me something was up. I could feel that John was tuning into my energy. My “aware” energy was really moving, a state that I have felt every time I have passed on my gift, directly, to another person (yes, you can do this). As we were talking John began to look away from me, as if he was looking at my hair or something. It was as though he was distracted. After several minutes of this, I stopped talking and asked him what was going on. He then said that he thought he was seeing something around my body which was like a light or a colored light. In that moment I put one and one together, and very quietly without much fuss, I tested my theory about glasses (for the first time) and I said, “John could you take your glasses off just for a minute?” When he did so, he registered a great deal of surprise. He exclaimed, “It’s bright! it’s a light!” I then asked him what it was that he was seeing, and he explained and described to me what he had been seen and that when he took his glasses off he was actually able to see the energy much more clearer and more brightly than he had before. Bear in mind, John knew nothing about auras, let alone what the effect would be to take them off. But from that day forward, John had entered the world of conscious energy awareness and observation.

Since I have never worn glasses in my life, except until the last few years for some reading, I have never had to take off my glasses. I have never run into this issue, so I can’t really speak to it very well, except that I do know that everyone that I know has been able to see auras better without their glasses on. I would urge you to do the same. I know that for some of you your eyesight may be poor but I want you to try it anyway. I want you to try it anyway because I suspect that you will find that even though while your vision may be poor, your ability to see the aura will be enhanced by using this method.

In my next installment, I will be going over issues related to color and how to begin to tune in color, which often is the next step for a lot of people who are just beginning to see the aura. I am also going to be covering some things that you may want to bear in mind when first seeing the aura, which fall into the category of certain mechanisms that may very well assist you in creating the bridge between your own energy field and your brain’s ability to translate that information. I will discuss the five “bodies” of energy that make up the aura, the colors, as well as the numerous energy effects that often show up in the field and what they mean. I will include work on body awareness and how we all feel energy and how we can utilize this for healing, greater awareness, as well as spiritual growth.

So for now, practice! If you have questions, feel free to ask. I will be happy to answer any question or to clarify anything I have said in this post. Until then!

I wanted to share this article that has just gone up on my sister site Divine Alignment about leg chakras and developing a keener awareness of subtle energy.  Enjoy!

Over the course of awakening I have found that my comprehension concerning energy has evolved significantly over the last eight years.  Before awakening I read auras, I had a native ability to pick up on this energy, but when awakening came this sense easily tripled in sensitivity.

As a result of this, I have found that I am picking up on aspects of energy that no one is even talking about.  When I read documents such as on pranayama or on the Golden Flower, I often find that there is a lot missing in understanding what is at work in the energy body of a person.  A few months ago I was being worked on by a therapist who was doing massage and energy work.  I could follow what she was doing, which was clearing individual lines of energy through the meridian or nadi channels in my etheric or energy body.  As she did this, I found myself changing the way that I looked or picked up on my own energy field; I began looking DOWN through the energy channels, and when I did this, I saw something completely different from anything I have ever heard described.  What I was able to see was the presence of the chakra wheels in each channel in a certain arrangement.  This showed to me an aspect of how our energy works, which is how the chakras have their own channels through which their own energy frequency flows alongside the frequencies of other centers. Why this is important is that once you know HOW each intersecting line in the energy body is composed, you can direct pressure into that point in a very exacting way in order to release a portion of a block in, say, the sacral chakra, by how one applies pressure in one portion of the meridian system that is far from the center being worked on.

I have also found that the directional flow that most yogis and other practitioners talk about is not actually the flow of the pranic force but is something else altogether.  While it IS an effect of how energy flows, it is not directly tied to energetic flow, but is in truth more about energetic harmonics.  Have you ever heard about pranic harmonics?  I didn’t think so.  No one talks about it.  What does it mean for a healer?  What does it say about your own level of energetic awareness? What can you do to delve into the world of energy more and understand this at a higher order than you had before? The benefits are that you can help others with their own energy and you can understand your own energy and the energy of the universe.

The question I have is whether or not there is interest in this kind of material.  I know that by expanding our awareness in this region, we can also expand our capacities as healers. What say you?

Kundalini(from my phone while out in the wilds…..word may seem scrunched up….I just know it….)

Its a private quest but with others pulled and repelled by the force of karma undoing itself.  Beyond what you believe karma is in the world of punishment-rewards lies the truth of it…..and it is so beautiful it is enough to change the orbit of your life.  You aren’t made perfect in a flash….you are shown the way it can be.  I was shown this way and while I go about it in my human way, I am also finding it.  For almost eight years I have engaged in an intensive effort to unwind all of karma….negative karma….in my awareness.  It is a cleansing of the depths.  It is a Big Dig.

The activation of the living force in my body and  my awareness has come to me just as it has been coming to many the last two decades; spontaneously with little practice or effort to rouse it.  That is what we say.  On the one hand, this is true, but when you look at it a little more closely, its as if all of us are just monks in drag. Cosmic camo or something.  I know, I am being snarky.  But I think it is true.  I think that I was ardent a seeker as you could find all squeezed into a nine year old frame.

The truth, though, is that we have all been searching for it. A woman who says she never searched for it  confided to me that she had practiced Hatha Yoga, which is a powerful method for moving energy.  She had practiced for years.  And I, I had developed my own form of meditation, hadn’t I?  It was intuitively based and had to do with how to allow energy to flow in the body.  It had decades of observation behind it….observations made by a man wh9 had been able to read energy since e was 18 when the gift opened to him.  I thought of it as “active meditation” which meant that I had used similar practices in projecting consciousness, in expanding my energy field, in clearing it, and a number of different things.  I just though being very still was kind of…..silly.  Yes, I knew that it was in this stillness that I was supposed to find something.  I didn’t buy it.  I have since found that it is not in MY silence that I have found “it” but rather that I and the silence are part of the same thing.  This is quite different, you see, and is enough of a difference to leave a person seeking ardently and just not finding it.  But being silent?  Not thick enough!  This is a quality of self, of being.  It is falling in love.  It is. The universe comes along and takes you.  It is quite the experience.  It moves you beyond anything you have felt before.  Liquid passion, liquid light moves up inside of you.  If you are a man something inside of you has to soften itself into being feminine just to TAKE this.  And if you are a woman, something inside of you has to penetrate the DEPTHS of this…..in a way that is masculine.  Not ready?  Well, something in you obviously decided that it was. Sorry little ego.  Here we go!

(Now I get to use my computer after the day has turned to night….and I can stretch out some)

iceberg

And all of this, as hard as it can get, is a saving grace.  For as hard as it has been, I am thankful for it.  I have been hard at work.  Every single day is a new effort.  It is…..relentless.  There were times when I thought I might just lose it….and times when I could never lose it.  There and back again.

Deeper and deeper this has gone, layer by layer.  This, the Hindu call the koshas, the “layers” of the self or consciousness that include the energy of the body, the mind, the emotions, and the broader parts of the self. There are, I suspect, though, koshas that express the higher self.  Everything that we are will have its expression as one of these vessels.  And each will contain junk in it all expressing at a given vibration.  The thing to realize is that as material is cleared, it becomes easier to clear still more deeper material.  And for me?  Seems I have saved the hardest for last.

I go through my day in a constant meditation upon HOW I feel and I am finding that I continue to go deeper into my feeling self and realize that some things that I thought were my reactions to things were not based on anything real but were the result of something unresolved in me.  These things seem obvious at first, but its not obvious when the material has been shoved down so deep and hard.  My root work continues to surprise me.  It is like unpacking junk from an ancient trunk.   I go at it, often with weekly releases of energetic material, old traumas or hurts or issues.  As I dig down into it, I feel stuff I had just never felt before.  I just could not SEE it or KNOW it for what it was!

See, there is just so much that you CAN see and for so long….and you deal with it….you do….but some of it you may not know HOW to let it go….obviously it is by surrendering….no kidding, right?  But sometimes something in you just doesn’t know how to do that, the hurt maybe is too fresh or new, or any number of things.  It may in fact be really old, a repeat of a very old SOMETHING.  When I had an ex turn my children against me in the midst of a divorce, I saw just how mean spirited she was being, wittingly hurting not just me, but more importantly, my precious children.  How terrible is that?  To ruin an avenue for your children?  I had another ex seek to slander me based on outright lies….which was the same as my previous ex.  All of this was hard, really hard, and difficult to get past because of how FRESH is all was.  I simply was not used to people who loved me doing this to me.  For me, this was a first in my life.  Trying to destroy those you love?  Really? What flavor of madness is that?

But its the very nature of how reactive that this made me that made all of this hard to let go.  It seems that these things all have a kind of expiration date.  If we let them alone long enough, they wither on the vine.  They become easier to pluck out.  It also get easier to let the karma go, too.  But as I go deeper into this real dark place in the root, it is like I can feel all of this stuff related to survival, to nurture.  Some of the hard things from the death of a parent, the loss of bonding with one parent.  Hard stuff, I am sure, and its all being dug up.  WHat I have found is that there are some really hard feelings buried in there.  This is the archetypal hades.  This is the hardest place because it is so central to our creative selves.

Part of these releases, these healings, have involved the concept of the great womb.  This womb is about creativity.  We use it loosely simply because it is not about creating children.  It is about creating ANYTHING.  You can feel into that place that is in each person, every man and woman….it is not a literal womb.  And yet, in higher order energetics, it is indeed just that.  It is a womb of the higher self, of the soul.  It is the meeting place for all energies to collaborate and create.  It is.  And its health will determine what comes from it.  Clear it out and it is a clean slate.  This is why this work is so important.  To return not just a person to the “zero” point but to help the planet reach such a place.  It is an incredibly intimate personal journey as it is for me, and yet, we ALL have this shit in us.  All of us.  Even those of you who think you are pure as the driven snow. I can tell you that inside of you are things that you have simply never allowed yourself to see.  Look back at our history as a species.  DO you see all of that horrid stuff we have done to each other over all those centuries?  Well, you were a part of that in some way somewhere somehow. We all die at the hands of another. We die of disease, we are manipulated, we are lost, we are forgotten. We are also remembered, cherished and loved.  To know ALL of this.  When we are able to integrate ALL of this, we can make the peace with it that we seem to need in order to move on from this level to another.  This is important work for all of us, and the wave doing this now will help each other by those who dig deep and also they will help those who have yet to wake up. It will literally create a different template for those who come later into this love, this field that is bristling with energy and promise.  It is in everything.  You have to open up to it.  It is endless.  We are truly infinite.  Even atoms are like this.  It boggles the mind.

We are made for this.  And it is worth the work.

After years of being out of touch with those who were a part of my earlier awakening, with the one whom I thought of as my twin, I have been able to go back and speak openly and frankly about a host of things.  I have been able to do what I did not feel I could do that I very much needed to do, which was to bring some sense of closure,  and to help bring some depth of understanding to why everything went down as it did.  I simply disappeared quickly as my own awakening shifted into a new gear.  Being able to explain myself….and also to face what I was once fearful of but am no longer fearful of.  Your perspective can change 180 degrees in a relatively short period of time.  So much can change.  Running from it isn’t the answer, though.  It is this interesting dance.  We can’t get bogged down by it, but neither can we run from it.  This other person has this mirror effect, which strengthens things in a way that is not always beneficial.  What we mirror we also reinforce, you see.  And this can make a small thing into a big thing.  A tar pit of the soul.  But there comes a time when the draw of the tar pit just no longer does it and you can speak about things in a way that actually leads to more and more releases….realizations that something you were holding onto was simply not necessary.  A block in your that was the same in them, now cleared, now simply no longer offers up the draw.  And this is so hard for people in it to realize…..that the draw is so often the blocks holding energy in a tight position in the self.  I call it how energy flows in a tight hose.  When you can open the hose or channel, the water (Qi) flows with less turbulence and chaos.  This is what we all look forward to.  Being universal channels for this light field.  Growing up and doing exactly what Jesus did; overcoming the world.  Clearing the karma.  Becoming free.

So deeper and deeper I go.  Deeper into a meditative state.  I now do it while listening to music, I do it while walking down the street.  What required a moment of quiet is more like a tool I use in the moment when I need to.  It is not so much about meditating now as much as it is a realization of how some things can move me out of my zone where I am calm, able to plumb that depth.  As I do this, I find there is more to do, more to feel into, to look at that I may have not seen in quite the way I just did a moment ago, which was the whole reason why this things was lodged in me for so long.  I had missidentified it, shoved it down and not sen it for what it was.  And it distorted my ability to see so many things in others.  I saw threats that weren’t there or I reacted beyond what one would normally do.  Until this stuff is dealt with, it remains an issue.  So down I go.  Digging in the dirt.  And you know what?  Its worth every minute.  It is why I came here.  It is job 1.

There are methods for dealing with this energy and it is about movement, but I have found that for the deep stuff, some movement with being able to feel deeply into the centers is important because feeling that deep means that you understand what was not understood for so long.  So much of this can be STUFFED emotion….ancient stuff…..and when you let it go, the really cool things is that this releases all your other lifetimes…..because until this material is dealt with, it is simply reflecting and mirroring in all your past lives.  It is free to be something different.  Wait.  And yes, I also mean the past.  How is that possible?  I don’t know, but I have already experienced it.  I have actually gone into my past and changed it.  The presence that is here with me today that I call kundalini is itself a form of my future self looping back as a way to improve its own “present” focus in a kind of future.  Thing is, there IS no time…..we live in a hologram that is ALL TIME.  As consciousness expands, you will see just what I mean.  So this future self has so much to offer…..and as I improve, it changes its own self or being.

It is quite the experience…..and I hope that in time everyone will experience this as a kind of right of passage and that those doing this now will have made the path so much easier….something that I laughingly called a “puberty for adults” to a friend who asked about it about a year ago.  It was the best way I could explain it.  And yes, it is a new world with so many responsibilities tied up with it….

The journey continues…

I have sensed energy and understood how energy works for years and knew that were I to want to, I could be a good energy healer.  I was untrained and did not read books about alternative medicine.  But I knew what I knew.  I knew that there was a side to healing that had to do with how we feel, how our consciousness is set up for “shaped” within our bodies that had everything to do with how healthy we are, how at peace we are, and a host of other things that western medicine has largely been either unwilling to approach or wont.  As I stood there one night, using my energy to make my cat roll over, I asked “What on earth is this?  What am I?”  the answer was that I was an “energy handler.”  I was so frustrated at that point, wanting ot figure this out. But it was not to be.  I had a deep impulse that until or unless I knew I was at complete peace, I would not do any kind of healing work.

I can remember telling a friend who was a gifted psychotherapist that I knew there was a way to heal people from a distance.  This was about five years before I found out about a healing modality caller Reiki, which served up distance healing.  Still, something in me told me that while I would be good, I knew that I had to be the most healed person in the room.

Amongst the Native Peoples of North America, the person who was the healer was the person who was him or herself the most healed.  This healed person was the most neutral.  A person who is not healed fully will not be able to see beyond his or her own lack of healing.  The block or issue in the energy body will create a certain level of blindness for the therapist  It is important to yourself be healed if you are to heal.

When a person is healed of an issue within, they are more able to change the issue in the person before them who is there for healing.  Whether you know this or not, there is an energetic component to all healing.  Sure, if you break an arm, you have to do things that will mechanically set and allow the arm to heal. But the speed of healing is greatly influenced by the flow of life force into the area.  This life force energy has a stimulating effect on a whole range of processes in the body and they go all the way down to the cellular level.  We know this because we have observed how it is that capillaries will dilate when someone comes into the vicinity of a healer’s hands.  We have charted that there are very real physical changes taking place in the wake of what we now know is a flux or flow of life force into the body of the person being healed.  There are many very beneficial things that happen when energy flow is allowed to move unhampered.  Sometimes the result is miraculous if the person who is doing the healing is him or herself a healed person.  Healed = clear.  the other side to this is that until you heal something in yourself, you will often tend to attract what you yourself are still working on in others.  So for example you might be dealing with something that is at its root about fear.  Until you are able to deal with it, though, you may not be as helpful to others as you would be if you yourself no longer had the issue to begin with.  Why?

Atunement.  This is the term I use and it may be what others use.  It is a principle I have observed since I was in my 20’s and it has to do with how one person can actually atune a person’s energy so that they literally vibrate out the knot or block or issue in their energy body so that the underlying issue in the energy and consciousness is gone so that at the cell level the body can begin to repair and work as it was intended to. It will almost always work the right way as intended even after years of dysfunction…..so long as permanent damage has not taken place in the body.  I used to observe how I was able to get people to see auras by using this atunement energy.  I could always feel it and as long as the person was receptive, it resulted in their being able to tune into the same thing I was tuning into energy-wise.  I knew that what was taking place was how a person was able to feel my own energy and by just feeling its vibration could then achieve that same vibration for themselves, which was what enabled them to then begin seeing auras.  For the people who had this happen to them, this was itself a dramatic, but what I knew deep down was that this was how all energy medicine worked.  I just wished that I could bring my gifts to the world.  But something kept me from doing so.  What kept me from doing so was the knowledge deep down that while I could do a great deal of healing, I wanted to do something that was quite rare here, which was to be a healed healer.  I didn’t want to heal while wounded still.  I will give you an example of what I mean.

Some months ago I decided to utilize Reiki as a healing modality for assisting me in releasing energy blocks which Kundalini has been actively engaged in helping me with since my awakening about seven years ago.  I was curious more than anything but I also felt like it could be a beneficial avenue.  After reading up on Reiki, I realized that this was a form of energy medicine that was similar to what I had always envisioned as something I tend to do with people when it comes to healing energy.

When I went, I explained that I had been actively clearing my energy field and had done so to a pretty deep level.  I explained that this had all taken place in each chakra over many of the “koshas.”  I wanted them to understand I was not just the regular Joe.  I needed them to go deeper then they may have been used to going.  I explained I was dealing now with root issues and that this was where I needed help.  We began and the healers were successful in helping to release some difficult material.  I went a second time and while there I had a healer who was the head of a local school of alternaitve medicine say that she could not feel anything left in my root, that it was clear. I explained that there was more there, I could feel it.  In fact, I knew very well what remained in my root because I could feel the blocks as sharp pain, dull pain, and a feeling of tension as well as pressure.  My awareness of where I am with my energy is so strong that it is translated by my brain into something that it can make sense of and it also helps me to keep track of where I am by this not-so-comfy feeling, but has been useful for monitoring my progress over these seven years or so.

After working on me for a while, the woman pronounced me cleared and stopped the work she was doing.  As I got up and thanked her for her work, she explained to me that sometimes we have to be careful about trying to turn nothing into something.  She assured me that I was clean as a whistle and to try not to make something out of nothing.  I smiled and thanked them all again before taking my jacket and heading out into the night air.

The takeaway from all of this is that for healers who are themselves not healed, they will be blind to what remains, just as this lady was blind to what remained in me.  Over the course of the next six months, I continued on my own to release more and more material, none of it imagined, none of it an inflation of something small or minor.  In truth, I may have dug deeper than this therapist had ever had the experience of going.  I don’t say this to boast, I say this because this is itself a very real issue with healers of all kinds.  You simply cannot help someone if you yourself do not know the route to the healing your patient needs.  This is so for western medicine as well as other forms of medicine such as Chinese Medicine, energy medicine, naturalpathy, etc.  The aspect of healing that is energetic is the part that most closely corresponds to the placebo effect.  We literally decide to feel differently and we do.  Our bodies register the change and off we go.  In the case of energy healing, though, it is possible to have healing above and beyond placebo.  We talk about placebo as if its unimportant, but it is huge.  Being able to let go and being willing to be ready to feel differently are important precursors to actual healing taking place.  So HOW you feel is important. You can actually learn how to feel differently by connecting in with the feelings of the healer.  This is what atunement is all about.  We literally vibrate at the same frequency as they do.  But if that healer does not have a cleared root in her vibration, will the patient be able to clear his or her root center completely?  If s/he does, it will not be because of the healer.

Speaking to a therapist about the work she did helping people in her practice, she expressed how she did not help people to heal.  She explained she helped them to cope. On the one hand, I thought that she was being honest and practical.  She did not try to reach for healing, she tried to make life better for the clients.  It probably  suited her well for where she was.  But no healing?  If you don’t think its possible, then its pretty much a lock that it wont be for your client.  When you expect the impossible, it tends to happen far more frequently than otherwise.  🙂

This same issue is at work when a teacher seeks to tell his or her students about something that he or she does not yet fully understand or has made a part of his or her practice.  Ram Das who wrote Be Here Now had a conversation with his teacher about why it was that he had not learned a certain principle from his previous teacher.  It was curious because other students had not learned it either, even though the teacher was able to teach about it many times.  Ram Das’s new teacher explained this perfectly:  his teacher could not expect anyone to learn the new perspective and embody it because he had not yet done so.  His teaching, then, was ineffectual as a result.  You can preach it all you want, but until you ARE it, there is little hope that your words will make any difference.  See, until the vibration is right, people wont get it because the other side of our being is that we are each energetic beings and we are highly sensitive to these energies in consciousness.  Our world is an unseen but entirely felt tapestry of energy that has a very real effect on people and as we have found in physics, on objects as well.

Does this mean that I think all people should hold off on doing energy work or healing until they themselves are clear?  Nope.  In fact, I think that a lot of good can be done even before you are completely clear or free from the wheel or karma.  I think for me, though, I am most interested in being able to come from a place where I am so clear that I can easily find every little hitch and glitch and gently and effortlessly give space and the vibration necessary to entrain and heal that person’s field of anything that is anything less than an aligned state of being. And does this mean that I wont be healing in this life?  Well, I can’t say for sure. At the pace I am going it wont be long before I have emptied the karmic dustbin out completely,  A few years ago I had someone say something to me that I thought was short sighted, which was that I was stuck in these karmic glitches and would probably remain so the rest of my life.  I thought “Wow, how incredibly limited!”  It was enough to get me shaking off the feeling behind those words, the sense of hopelessness that must have been in that person.  Well, I am here to say that life is nothing if not full of surprises and our conception one moment can be completely reformed the next.  Change can happen on a dime!  So I say: be ready for anything!  I am here to return to the garden.  Why are you here?

And that, dear reader, is a little perspective on the healing arts!

What am I?”  the answer was that I was an “energy handler.”  I was so frustrated at that point, wanting to figure this out. But it was not to be.  I had a deep impulse that until or unless I knew I was at complete peace, I would not do any kind of healing work.  And I didn’t.
