You can’t see a chakra, so how is it that I am using a term like ‘anatomy’ to talk about it?

Invisible to the naked eye, the chakras are beyond visible perception but have been studied for thousands of years. Chakra is a word from Sanskrit that means ‘wheel.’ While the concept of the chakra never entered into the lexicon of Chinese Medicine, the Chinese mapped the lines connecting the chakra system with such precision that their maps are used to locate and identify the gateways or points in the subtle body system that can be pressed or “needled” by acupuncturists to help release the blocked energy the Chinese call qi and the Hindus call prana. The specifics differ due to cultural inclinations, but they are both describing the same thing, as well as different parts of the same system of energy.

The anatomy of the chakras has been done by those sensitive enough or those most willing to tune into them using energetic awareness and the third eye. For as ancient as the knowledge is, there is still more to discover.

In 2009, I was visited by an angelic being who placed his hand into my heart chakra in what I describe as a form of “surgery” where he pulled out a “skin” or body of old psychic material that I had in my energy body. As this was happening, my system went from feeling like it was running on a 220 volt system to a 10,000 volt system. Everything lit up, my entire being was suffused by a love of God so incredible I had no idea such an experience was even possible. During what only took a moment, a series of extremely rapid communications took place. I realized that I had entered into a superstate. I am telling you this to point out that whenever I have had these transcendent experiences (I actually don’t go beyond—I feel that I am enhanced or consciousness has accelerated), my perception and awareness also is enhanced right along with everything else.

One thing that I noticed was that I was focused on my heart chakra and saw what appeared to be a beautiful thousand-petaled flower form that emerged into my mind’s eye awareness. As I watched this flower that I knew was my heart chakra, I noticed that behind the flower was yet another flower. As I looked at this, information streamed into me letting me know that the flower in the front of my chest coincided with yang or positive “male” energy in consciousness while the other flower or chakra corresponded to the yin or “feminine” qualities in consciousness. I use quotes because this has nothing to do with gender or sexual orientation, just a quality in all of us. It is also what connects us to the divine, to superconsciousness which is native to all of us and not separate from any of us. It is the yin/yang and the father/holy ghost. These two build the full compliment of superconsciousness also known as cosmic mind, the Christ, and others (described in every major culture).

This second flower was guarded, protected, really, or so it seemed, by its masculine counterpart.I thought how lovely that was, but I also thought that this idea seemed new. I had never heard of two heart chakras before (and I’ve studied energy for years), so what was going on?

This experience led me to inquire more deeply within to see if I could find out more.

What I came up with from my inner study was a little hard to grasp on the surface but easy to grasp in totality. So here goes…

Since the chakras correspond to the physical body, they have the appearance of a given location and form, with two complimentary channels of energy moving through and aiding in the activation or flow(yin and yang). At the same time, the chakras channel this energy called prana which appears to not be tied down to a regular 3-dimensional structure only. As a result their placement in the body, while consistent, also has a few odd inconsistencies attached. For one; it exhibits nonlocality. This means that a discrete particle of energy can be anywhere, or, theoretically, everywhere simply because while it is here in space/time, it also exists outside of it. This correlates with some theories in quantum mechanics which give physicists a hard time sometimes.

In the body there are Ida and Pengali channels in the nadi or meridian system. The Ida carries what is generally thought of as a negative charge with the Pengali carrying what we refer to as a positive charge. These run in parallel along the spine. While this is so, the feminine aspect of the chakra appears to be situated towards the back side of the body. It seems as though this might be an odd bit of “spooky action” at a distance.Perhaps when the energy from the Ida and Pengali enter the chakra it gets “turned” somehow so that this orientation is perceived as being front to back. This is the forward edge of energetic understanding since no one that I am aware of has delved into this issue. It’s curious and I’d like to understand it better because I think it could reveal a hitherto unknown characteristic of the energy that might provide us with a new wrinkle in also understanding ourselves and the super consciousness that “invented” all of this.

Now as I say this, I know that it could also be that nothing is as simple as it seems. It could be that we only feel this orientation due to how our own personalities or Psyche’s are structured. It is possible that I feel the receptive energy more in the core of my being because I am a heterosexual male whose sexual alignment is masculine/hetero while I have a non-dominant series of feminine traits that are more subtle in their expression. Would a woman feel an inner masculine that resides within, situated so because those traits are not dominant? Or is this just how I am oriented? I do note however that the Seraphim when telling me his name showed me his nature in a visual image. It consisted of a tall masculine man with a softer interior. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. This is very much like how I feel myself to be…so I do wonder how others experience this….

I also found that what I was feeling was that one side of the chakra turned one way based on its polarity while the other side, to the back, turned a different way. That is, the movement felt like it was opposite or complimentary. This created the feeling of two lobes of the same object turning together but using or being affected by different “ends” of the energy. To be more accurate, there was a feeling of this being a torus form where energy would flow out and then back into the center which is the “zero point” where all energy reached no-charge. Positive would turn into negative and negative would turn into positive. The torus itself maintained a magnetic alignment that gave it a sense of solidity, form, and consistency…much like how the physical body maintains consistency even though it is made entirely of energy (E=MC2)

I was pleased to find that the drawing I made back in the day to illustrate this is a nearly perfect representation of images Barbara Brennan has had illustrated in her books about human energy and healing.

Don’t take the drawing as literal, however. It leaves a lot of subtle material out and is meant to present the idea. It is highly simplified in order to make some principles clearer. The image is below.

And for that matter, this image of a torus viewed on its side (think of a donut shape) could be used (below).

For those interested in learning by doing, or helping to expand our knowledge base, I encourage you to use the minds eye to see the energy body. I know that what I have done is the same perception used by the Chinese that led to their meridian maps or the Indian system of the basis or energy channels.

Once when I was in a deep restful state with my masseuse and energy worker, I found my third eye activated and I was able to look at my body as though I was looking down from my head to my feet. I saw how along one meridian there were a cluster of other points, each coinciding with a chakra in another part of the body. What’s more, my masseuse was about to press her finger on that meridian line and as she felt for it, I saw one of the dots around the meridian was dark. I told her what I was seeing. The point was so small, her finger covered the cluster of points but the very center of her pressure in her finger was about an 8th of an inch off. So I told her which direction to press into, and as she pressed, she also moved her finger over the fascia of my skin just enough to reach the one point exactly. She pressed and I howled in pain; she was worried and I said to keep pressing harder. And boom, just like that, two memories popped into clear view that involved my trauma with the ocean-once as a child in my life now and as a Polynesian. While the details aren’t important here, the fact that I saw something that had never been described before in any manual on energy medicine sure seemed very important. Instead of viewing the energy system front-end, I was looking “down the pipe” (top to bottom) as I call it and saw this cluster of dots that when pushed, cleared energy from another chakra in another part of the body. The pressure point was in my shoulder but the center that released was down in the hip or root chakra region. When I guided her finger to the exact point, it was like releasing a long forgotten memory and the emotions that went along with it.Interstingly this cluster of points looked just like a flower with dots for petals. Each petal, a channel for bliss-filled energy. The implication in my vision was that each chakra is energetically present at every other point. Let that sink in for a while.

You might think if you see a chakra as a flower that this is its literal structure. It isn’t. A chakra might feel like a flower but look like a cluster of meridian lines. But the chakra feels like a beautiful unfolding flower. It’s poetry, you see, a way to tell the truth when faced with something in our world through colorful interpretations based on the association’s we have with objects in the world. The image tells the truth through dreaming.

Dream imagery achieves the same thing; it conveys how we feel about something because our response and our experience are in no way separated from the phenomenon. When someone misperceives me,f or example,  I feel it as a tightening, almost always, because the channels of energy are being affected in that person and I can feel what they feel when I tune them in.  But it is they who are shutting down their energy, not me. I can still feel it. It might seem real to them, but is not real beyond what the energy is doing (constricting) and I know that it is in this constriction that people pull into their own limited story lines about what they think is true instead of what is. So they dream a story and believe it to be real. I do not dream, but feel the restriction. So likewise I saw the chakras as like a peony with endless petals. Beautiful and poetic, with the male “covering” or protecting the female. But this was just an image that I saw that sought to interpret what I was able to grasp in the moment. It was beyond beautiful… it was cosmic… so a peony with its riot of petals opening helped to convey this opening that happened in me with the angelic seraphim.

To that end, it is an image that describes a spatial and non-spatial phenomenon all at once (something both physical and nonphysical all at once).

What am I saying? I am saying that truths use images to express themselves, but we are the ones choosing the images. The clearer you are inside, the clearer the transmission is. Don’t take images in the mind as the literal truth because there is more for all of us to learn and know (myself included). I’m just showing you whatI have seen, hoping others will get curious and want to do their own inquiry to help move all of us along in our understanding.

I remember feeling that dot activate in the center of my brow even when I was little. It was maybe the size of a pea. Okay, maybe half the diameter of a dime, a little bigger than a pea. It always came with this curious sense of pressure there. Like something was just…resting there….a dime, a pea, really it could have been anything. I would wonder if my third eye was activating.

But then I was jettisoned into an awakening, and it began, in part, when this voice in my head told me to close my eyes and focus my eyes along the center-point of my brow line. That changed it for me. It sounds impossibly simple, right? This has been one method used by many people across time and cultures to activate life force so that it flows at a higher level (Egyptian Mystery Schools, early Christians, Hindu, Taoists, and more). I slipped past the mirror and began a journey into a world within that was expressing itself through myriad lives here on earth….atoms, trees, fish, stars, and the ten thousand things.

That dot transformed. I felt it as it changed, grew, then spread across my forehead. I didn’t know that this would lead to awakening, I was trusting in the inner voice that was urging me along. I drew a picture of it as it felt on my head. It was just that vivid. It was no longer a dot, but a double channel of yin and yang energies fueling my inner sight.

Bands of energy radiated outward horizontally and wrapped all the way around my head. The pressure was intense, but it never hurt. It was an ethereal energetic pressure, and it felt like it was cracking my head open like a nut.

The dot, a seed, really, had sprouted and grew each night as I sat down in bed to meditate before going to sleep. I watered the seed with my attention. You don’t have to think magic thoughts, you don’t have to do anything when you turn your awareness to it. In fact, it seems like you are doing precious little. It is like flipping a switch. But be aware what you are in for. Are you ready for a relentless process of realignment, cleansing and release? Are you ready to go forward one step, crossing a threshold from which there is no return? “Buckle up because Kansas is getting ready to go bye-bye.” There’s no putting the genie back in the bottle. But when you are ready, you are ready.

Please come take me,”  I wrote in my journal that night. “I am not afraid of you, I know you do not mean any harm. I know you want to open me like a lover opens his beloved.” Unashamed, unafraid, I knew that this was how this had to go. I was to be lit on fire by the Holy Ghost, the Cosmic Fire, the Kundalini. One part of me was the initiator and another was being initiated by this new fire of life. And it happened so effortlessly, like I had come here for this. My ticket had been reserved aeons ago. It was going to happen.

This is a full third eye awakening, my friends. I thought I knew, but I knew only the tip of its tail, that pea-sized dot. The dot is the seed. Nascent, full of promise, but not fully activated. Maybe that’s why they paint the bindi on their foreheads I thought. They do it because that’s how it feels to them.

When the third eye blossomed in me, it was so radically different, you see, that I had to draw it, recording it both so others could see it and so I could look at it with my  physical eyes, too.

It led me into undescribable bliss. Like a rocket, it took me there until I learned how to reach that pearlesent bliss on my own. It taught me that I had to work to clear my baggage. This took years. I wish I could say it was easy, but it wasn’t. But the inner presence that woke up within me didn’t care; it offered me endless chances with no judgement. While I would feel defeated by my stumbled, it seemed to smile as if to say, “This is how you learn. You stumble, you fall; you get back up and go farther each and every time.”

Some refer to it as “the helmet” some as “a vice.”  I wanted to study it. My little secret is that if you bring your fiery love of awakening with you, unashamed, into the moment and come to your wanting to know more about something, something in the universe opens inside of you, like a blossom, a riotously wild but free blossom that contains just what you want to know. The universe opens its “secrets” to you. I don’t know who is being seduced more, me or God. But it works so beautifully. Just silence your mind and be ready to let your imagination build the images or words or smells to give you it’s truth and meaning….because when you do, you naturally can become the thing you are after to know. What better way to know something than to become it in your heart.

How do I explain to you that you fall in love with the Universe? How do I explain that while this intense live flows, it just gives all of itself to you in the process? It responds to the seductive power that is the human spirit. This spirit, gifted through God, is a spark or piece of God and thus our own desire is God’s desire. How do I explain how when you feel this love you lose who is you and who is God? The gift is that in this live beyond all our loves, all secret hidden things become plain as the scales of our earthly condition fall away…or can…if you can give yourself completely to this love.

It is this way that I have learned so much. No teacher, no guru, and no need to wade through what parrots have to say. But this was how I began to learn and how I use my third eye as a sacred instrument of knowing. It is. It is part of my inner temple. And we all have that temple in us, that place where we meet the divine. My third eye let’s me see what is important or most immediate in my life. It’s force spreads across my head, a reminder that it’s there. The secret is to keep it simple. Our rational minds stumble and fall in its advancing presence. No, you have to be able to let yourself think and feel in an impossibly big way.Are you ready? It is like an amazing dream, impossible for it to be real, but is.

I was pleased to see that what I had drawn matched perfectly the Tilak that yogis paint on their foreheads. They too were just drawing what they had felt. Maybe some were just parroting what others had done, not realizing that this was how a fully awakened third eye felt like. Shiva has it always painted on his head. The yogis sometimes don’t have the horizontal bands on their Tilak. Some do. Some have a series of dots with those horizontal pressure bands. It’s all the same, I know, different versions, varieties of the same experience. Below are some images of the Tilak, so you know, so you can see that it isnt just decoration, not merely a ritualized marking; it is an illustration. It describes something. Something real in us…

Look at my drawing again….

So look for this, but do so carefully because if you are feverishly seeking awakening, no one will keep you from it, but it’s good to prepare. It makes things easier. But if you are going to be taken by God, it’s just going to be. This third eye is how they got there. The yogis describe it, Jesus even taught about how to activate it (few even realize that he was teaching about something so esoteric), and anyone who knows where it is that his teaching on the third eye shows up wins a prize! I will give you a hint; it is in one of the canonical Gospels! Verily I say to you, it is true! Let me know if you can find it…

You can travel with the third eye, you can. I was taught by “it” this broad inexhaustible divinity in all things, how it’s to be used (or how I would use it). You can step into worlds through it and glimpse wonders. If that sounds too impossible to you, just remember; it’s already been done, and I do it whenever there is enough of a need. It’s always about something I either need to know or would love to know. Either way, it’s always juicy and perfect. It’s also teaching me how to live my life on the narrow path….which is in truth how to balance between shadow and light so that I might know the depth of love and bliss right here and now. That of course freaks out the fundamentalists, but is understood by the esoteric, the mystics: the shadow we create through our actions does not dissolve until we recognize and heal it (“repent and sin no more”). Until then, it haunts us, taunts us, until we can call on the grace that we are that is God-given, a lifesaving, soul-saving gift. We can be saved, but not until we repent…or recognize that we were doing shadow work to begin with.

I Ask You….

So how does the third eye feel to you? Has it given you wonders, has it been a curious thing, a mystery? Have felt pressure there? Does it seem inconsequential to you?  Is it a mystery? Do my words seem impossible?

Know the mysteries. Like stars, they beckon us to adventure. How does it feel, this awakened third eye? Is it a dot? Does it spread across your forehead? Where has it gone? Did it open to you, was your life changed? Has it been hard? Did the hardness show you the way into supreme bliss?

I’d love to know your story…

Sorry to be away so long; so much is afoot right now for me. I’ll write about it later. Meanwhile, how does the third eye treat you? I would love to know.

Swimming in bliss…

I wanted to share this article that has just gone up on my sister site Divine Alignment about leg chakras and developing a keener awareness of subtle energy.  Enjoy!

NOTE:  I know….another long post.  Sorry about that, really. But I am asking you on an adventure and we can’t do that with a bunch of bulletted text, can we? So here goes the long version that asks you take a cup of tea and a cookie or something and just soak into it…

Imagine that overlaid on your body is an extremely fine webwork of energy lines, fine as spiders thread which create a vast jungle of pathways that align to organs and centers in your body that are physical that these lines help to feed the necessary nutrient of life force or prana to. You can’t see or touch these lines, but you can feel them.  In fact, there are people, like myself, who can see the energy radiating off of them which can tell you all about where that person is physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  It sounds a little wild to some people, but really, its only because you have never heard of it or experienced it directly for yourself.  But when you do, it is a game changer.  But you don’t have to see this energy in order to work with it.  There is a lot that you can do with it that is healthy and beneficial.

These lines that make up the energy body begin so small that they are difficult to see.  They go down in scale to subatomic since the energy force literally does feed right into and out of the subatomic.  Its a very very detailed system for carrying energy.  Most systems for understanding this only show the seven chakras that go up the core of the body.  In the same way that your vascular system goes from extremely small structures that feed into organs and cells, they get bigger and bigger like the branches of a tree.  Finally they go up a central main trunk, which is where the most obvious centers of vortex energy reside.  We call these “chakras” which mean “wheel” or “disc” in the Sanskrit.

You don’t need to know anything about esoteric traditions to know and understand what a chakra is or what your energy is.  I can tell you that by becoming sensitive to energy fields that are in others around you and by feeling your own energy, you can learn right away FROM the energy itself to know how it behaves and how incredibly complex but beautiful it is. By learning directly with the energy, you can allow your own natural intuitiveness to bloom.  Most people feel they have to learn this from another person, but I say that you literally have the capacity within you to decode the information for yourself because it is what you are.  But absent that, a few very basic guidelines about how to reach a place where the energy of the infinite can move through you with calm and peace.

Blocks As Solid (Ideas and Emotions)

We like to think of energy as something that is not solid, but I want to propose to you that at the level of energy itself, the energy body has amazing structure and a kind of “solidity” to it that makes the lines that run through it that the Chinese have charted as “meridians” as incredibly consistent from one person to the next.  Far from being just a current or amorphous flow of energy, the energy that makes up our consciousness is amazingly structured.  It is out of this “solidity” that energetic objects can get stuck in the system that is our light body.  In the same way that food can get stuck in your throat, energy can be stuck, sometimes for years, lifetimes even, in your energy body.  The result of removing the block is that perception and awareness changes and the person feels much more peaceful and happy.

But we are a cluster of thousands of these blocks.  These blocks are always emotions that were not fully felt in one way or another. Do you fear your rage? Do you find yourself putting it away or stuffing it down?  That breakup with your boyfriend or girlfriend where you pulled yourself together and stopped crying because you were afraid you were going to just fall apart? Its possible that you were stuffing something down. Or how about that moment when you feared something that you did not understand…a feeling that just hung there like dirty laundry on the clothesline?  Afraid, we leave it alone…..and we shove it down.  By not fully processing any form of emotion, we literally create a kind of bottled knot of whatever that emotion is that gets stored in the energy body.

The Body Thinks

There is a lot of evidence that I am finding that shows HOW the energy body and the physical body work together to either store or to release these blocks.  It has to do with the nervous system, the brain, as well as the current of prana and how it is polarized in the life force field itself.

The light body is made up of two fields of energy that are joined and that replenish each other. They aren’t really even “two” but two ends of a spectrum of energy that represents a kind of cosmic totality that makes it possible for you to then connect into the totality that exists beyond you.  This is the way this energy works, and is why you can feel the rush of the universe move through you in moments of nondual awareness (or as a continual awareness depending on the extent of your experience).  Two-in-one (energies) who then birth a transcendent third energy.  You see? All of this activity is felt as taking place not in the head but all through the body.

What I am getting at is that there is already evidence to support that the body “thinks” and stores memory.  Now this stands in direct opposition to what we all have been taught, but what we have learned about our capacity to store memory is simply lacking.  Consider that the tissues in your body contain neurons, enough neurons in your gut for the brain of the average cat.  THAT is a lot of processing power.  What do you think our gut is doing with all of that?  What does your gut tell you? 🙂 So you see, the body has this capacity for dealing with memory, yes, and there is also a way to use somatics (body knowledge) to aid in releasing these memories.  Unlike the brain, the body seems to be more selective in the memories it stores.  It seems at this point in time, to be storing memories that it has had trouble with.  These can now be released once the individual is ready to release them.  And doing so is a saving grace because whatever the short coming was, or the fault or hurt or fear or rage, it all evaporates after releasing these blocks.

In the work I was doing with my friend Alison who is herself awakened and a gifted intuitive, we found that even matter itself has a propensity to hold blocked energy.  I one experience that unfolded that I write about in my book, I describe how we unlocked an energy that had been blocked at a physical site that involved the murder of a man who had been drowned in a lake.  At the time, we did not know that a body had been found in the lake that we saw in our inner vision, but it had been discovered as the waters receded in what was then a dry lake bed (and his body was discovered along with some of his belongings enough to identify him).  We were able to describe a scenario that had a group of friends going out on the lake in the middle of the night with one of their friends not returning.  By simply recognizing the truth of this event, we were able to release it.  Six months after our encounter our local newspaper printed a story about the man who had died in the lake!  It was pretty amazing that events in the physical world would be so closely tied to our own encounter.  The newspaper story told the story of the four friends who took this man out onto the lake.  What we saw was that he was murdered for an elicit love affair with the wife or girlfriend of his friend. It was perhaps the reason why the blocked energy could be released….because someone was able to see what really happened on that night.  No one else would have been able to really see the events as they took place.  While we had testimony from his friends as part of the historical record, it is interesting how no one seemed to even entertain the idea of foul play at all.  Basically, it came down to four people all saying that their friend drowned. As long as everyone sticks to their story, then no one is the wiser.

And of course, this lead the skeptical to suggest that I saw something that was not there, or that I was making it up or seeing a real event bu interpreting it to fit my own life where I felt as though I had been drowned. And I will concede that this is certainly a real possibility.  What suggests to me that we were seeing real events was because both Alison and I were picking up on all the same information, information that was in line with the story when it came out in the newspapers.

And this is where the second lesson in doing this kind of work comes in.  When we went up to this lake, we were simply going to see the sun setting.  But what unfolded was an event not unlike one that had taken place in my own life. There was something eerily similar to what had happened to me and to our friend who drowned in the lake.  While my life was not taken from me, my experience in my marriage was that I was being held underwater to be drowned before my own children.  It was itself a really painful experience that happened to me, something that people in the psychiatric community call ‘Parental Alienation Syndrome.”  One parent tries to destroy the other parent in the eyes of the children.  When it happens to you, it feels like the life is being sucked out of your body.  it feels like you are drowning.  It was appropriate that I would pick up on this eerie energy that was skulking about in those hills.  It was scary at first….sinister….but as we worked through the memory, I found that I was touching on a whole host of feelings that were in me as well.  By working with one block we were able to clear the other block.

But what took place in the wake of this experience is also very telling.  In the same way that clearing a block in your body leads to a world of new possibilities, the area where this drowning took place also underwent a lot of changes in the years following our event.  Renovations were called for in the main buildings, a new arts initiative was called for with new people with progressive ideas coming onto the scene.  It was as though a new window opened for the people who lived and worked around this location.  To date, a slew of new initiatives have been undertaken on the part of the owners of the property where this lake is.  Its interesting to see how a location can be stuck for years only to see how it becomes unstuck, with a flow of new people, new ideas, and new possibilities entering the scene.  The same happens to you when you release these blocks, too!

Complimentary Blocks And The Law Of Attraction

Until a block is cleared, the block can be the basis of an attraction by others who are either similarly blocked or complimentary blocked.  What this means is that you either have someone who has had the same KIND of experience or someone who compliments the experience as in the case of someone who has a fear of being pushed, say, and you attract a person who seems to like to push you a lot!  THAT would be an example of a complimentary attraction.  A positive complimentary attraction would be somethign similar but in the positive, not negative.  In either case, however, the two people feel the similarities even if they are opposites, and these dynamics open up the flow of energy within us. They fill a role be it positive or negative.  These aspects of the other person can lay dormant for decades before expressing themselves, or they can be playing in the background all the time.  However, when you release this material, you release any possibility for this same kind of blocked material to ever be of any consequence to you in the future.  it is gone like a poof of smoke.  And this is why this kind of work is so important and life changing; you can change your whole life based on one big critical pivotal move in clearing your blocks in your body.  The result is that you NEVER feel energized by behaviors that would have effected you before.  It’s as though your mind has been completely rewired when it comes to whatever hot button issue this block represented to you in the past.  There is a lot to suggest that this event does literally have the power to rewire the brain in seconds flat!  How’s that for a speedy transformation?

It really is that fast and that easy.  When you have enough of these you realize that you can actually become a free person in ways you have never experienced before.

Ways Of Clearing Blocks

The best way to work through blocks is to pay attention to the ones that come up the most for you.  This is one most obvious way.  But these blocks may also be the hardest to clear away.  I am of the observed opinion that clearing smaller blocks is the way to go since it can loosen up material surrounding one block only to result in a kind of energetic avalanche with other blocks going at about the same time.

You can identify blocks in your body by simply observing when you feel a sense of resistance or even pain in your body when you move a certain way.  Your energy body changes frequency from one end of the field to the other.  As a result, different emotions are stored at different places along this “column” in the body.  This is why some issues are stored in the root chakra than in the crown. The root chakra deals with nurture, abundance, and safety of self, for example.  When you feel a sense of resistance or even pain from tightness in a given area, you can gain a good bit of understanding about the block in general by thinking about where that block is located.  If its between two chakras, then it will contain aspects of BOTH chakras in some way.

If you can identify the spot where the hurt or twinge keeps happening, you can point it out to a therapists who can work on that spot for you.  The types of therapists who can do this work will be people who do both energy work and body manipulations such as deep tissue massage.  Acupressure, acupuncture, reiki, and deep tissue are all methods that can help.  In pranayama yoga there is a lot of attention given to moving certain parts of the body, something called “locks” that help to move blocked material.  All of these involve vigorous movement of the part of the body where the chakra is located and, presumably, the blocked material.  Even placing your attention on the spot and holding it there through the day is one way that you can help loosen up a block in your body.  If it gets enough aware energy, it can trigger the release of the block sometimes.

Chakra Clearing VS. Meridian Clearing

This is especially true for the chakras.  When a block is in a meridian line and not in a chakra, it seems to be harder to release it unless you are using acupressure or reiki, systems that actively move energy through the meridians of the energy body.  The chakras, conversely,  have a churning effect on blocks so that if you can use the chakras in meditation to swirl and move around a block, this can be very helpful because unlike clearig one small block in a meridian, a whole cluster of blocks can often be released all at once when its associated to chakra movement.  This is achieved by simply visualizing it and allowing the chakras to open fully and begin their movements, which often feel like you are moving or floating or even flying sometimes.  By placing your intent to clear the blocked material in a given chakra, the energy can begin to melt away the block.

Clearing along a meridian line is more exact and may only clear one block.  It can also lead to other blocks letting go, though, and these blocks can be worked through by acupuncture, acupressure, and deep tissue most often.  The larger blocks can be “swirled” away through vigorous chakra movement and can sweep away lots of blocks at once, leaving a person feeling as though they are a changed person.  Many people who have these types of clearings describe feeling as though their body was being purged by a wave or by a force that sent a whole series of bubbles or shots of energy up along their spine and out their body.  Fundamental to all of this work is intent (willingness) and willingness to surrender at a deep level even into the body.  By reaching this deep state of vulnerability, you will also be reaching a deep state of awareness somatically about your body and your own body of feeling, too. Trust me, when the moment comes, it will be like suddenly seeing things in a very different way, the way perhaps that things really are instead of the way you have chosen to see them through the colorings of the particular block that you have.  Be ready to see things in a very different way, or to feel them very differently.  And remember; this is nothing at all to do with reason.  This is NOT about working through your emotional backlog rationally.  To try to do so is a trap.  Yes, reason can keep you OUT of the thick hot stew of your feelings and can help you to calmly identify what needs to be released.  However, you need to actually jump in the water with no fear or resistance to what you will find since this is a necessary state of mind and heart that you will need in order to clear the block. If you turn away, you are effectively saying to your body that its okay to keep the block in place.

Some blocks go quickly.  Some take months, even years to dissolve.  A good rule of thumb is that if you have a strong investment in a given block, the harder it will be to rid yourself of it.  The more ego focuses on it, the harder it will be for the block to simply dissolve.

Part of prana is the energy body that expresses itself as a vortex, a kind of doughnut-shaped field of energy that is common to most anything that has an electromagnetic field around it.  It is this field that carries your consciousness and also the energy that feeds into your cells. When the energy is blocked, illness and neurosis can result. Life force is literally being squeezed out of you when it should be more abundant.

When you remove these blocks you can realize stronger energy, a more peaceful state of mind and greater bliss that is not at the whim of whatever blocks are turning in you at the time.

Until you are able to release a block, the block itself will be energized by prana in your body and it will remain active.  It can cause any number of problems, all of which will revolve around some kind of meme that is less than who you really are as a divine creature in earthly robes.  These blocks can cause no end of trouble for you.  There is little else work that is as important as this is.

There are numerous ways to clear away blocks in the body.  One method is through energy work like White Crane Chi Gung.  This method of blending movement with energy work will aid in the removal of blocks throughout the body.  In order for it to work, it requires patience and persistence.  By working at it for weeks and months at a time, you can begin to see results.  Deep tissue massage by a practitioner who knows or understands about blocks is helpful.  Also, body movement is key.  The very act of shaking or massaging or moving the part of the body that is blocked can aid in removing material from it.

Until you have cleared one chakra region, you will be dealing with what blocks remain in that region.  You will likely find that less obvious blocks come to the fore in your awareness now after having one bigger more obvious block removed.  Your attention can become much more highly tuned in this way to detect blocks in your system.  As this happens, you can also become much more sensitive to the presence in blocks in yourself and others if you are interested in learning a healing art.  I have dug so deep into myself that I have had some practitioners unable to detect the blocks.  One actually scolded me, saying I should not try to CREATE problems when there were were not problems there.  This practitioner was not able to pick up on this material, and I went on to have a number of clearings surrounding this region, so yes, there was more there, but not all of us will be as good about picking up on it.  While I have done the bulk of the clearing on my own, I have used a variety of methods to assist in clearing my system, and these have all worked well for me when they came along in my awakening journey (almost as if they were perfectly suited for the blocks kundalini was churning away on at the time!).  In many ways, I have been very gifted to have found a certain modality at a given time, as though the timing was perfect.  I was talking with my latest therapist about doing more work in the Fall recently as she expressed some surprise with the level of release I was experiencing with her work. I had to explain that while my being able to release blocks was different from her experience, it wasn’t from my experience.  For many people, it seems they get a deep tissue massage and maybe loosen up some material a bit.  For me, I am headed into the final stage of releasing material, a process that has taken years of steady daily attention and work, and I am having flashes of past lives, of deeply held traumas from my ancient past. It seems the deeper I go into it, the harder it is, the deeper the shadows.

So don’t be afraid of the shadow, I say.  That you get down into such shadows is cause for celebration.  Who on the planet has managed to get this deeply into themselves….to overcome the world?

This is why clearing blocks is so important; it is all about overcoming the world.  Would you like to see with new eyes?  With clear bodies, we can build a clear world.  And that is why I am writing to you today.  Pass it along!

Recently while doing some release work I began to see etherically the lines of energy that are called meridians in the Chinese system and the naddis (pronounced “nardi”) in the Indian system. Before I knew what I “had” when I awoke, I became aware of these white lines in the body that I knew were energy and could be affected/healed from a distance.  It was only through some serendipity that I managed to catch on to what it was I was seeing and that it had a name. In the some twenty-five years of sensing energy fields in others, I never picked up on these lines of etheric force that carried prana or qi in the body.  I began seeing it in spades, now, with this thing fast upon me.  But through the release of a lot of blocked material, hundreds, if not thousands of them from big and small, I have come to a place where I am nearly cleared of most major blocks, save for the hardest ones, in the root and sacral. In the last few months, following some significant releases of root blocks, I have come to see things in my body using the third eye or etheric sensing, in a different way.

My inner sensing has become much more detailed.  Imagine a piece of cloth where instead of a thread being a typical small thread, each thread is as small as a fiber in a thread.  Now, imagine the energy body composed of a river of these threads, all contiguous, with color any number of things used to express the character of the energy within it.  In the Hindu system, we see each chakra as having a different color, making up a rainbow.  In my experience, though, there are no colors, only qualities in consciousness, and with that said, the use of images to explain or even perceive them is like a dream image that we can translate.  What was once a white nerve-like channel that had an almost rubber consistency early on has become something far more complex.  I would say that my inner vision has itself cleared a bit.  I think, for healers and body workers who deal with energy, this level of clarity can be incredibly useful.  It can be useful because I found that I was seeing something new that I have never heard described anywhere in any of the books.

I was able to focus my attention on an energy line running up my torso and look down “into” the line.  As I did, I saw something unusual.  At first, I didn’t know what it meant, but it allowed me to tell the practitioner where to focus pressure on an acupuncture point in my body.  This point was smaller than the tip of your finger, and while you can “hit the point”very well, the point was itself made up of a more detailed anatomy that if correct, reveals a kind of holographic characteristic of our energy body, chakras, and the naddis or meridians themselves.  Since this is so new, I am going to continue to observe to see if I can get enough observation to confirm what my gut instinct is telling me is so. If it is what I think it is, it means that blocks in one part of the body can be released through other parts of the body since the system is far more connected than we might even now realize.  It also creates a kind of….poetry of the body wherein how one part of the body that stores a block has a relationship with other seemingly unrelated parts that actually bear a relationship with the stored material that builds a story that flows out of the story of the yin and yang forces in prana and in our own private experience.   The stored part is drawn out by way of the more active portions of the body, flowing up and out of those meridians based on where the energy was stored not just in the chakra centers, but the naddis themselves.

The benefit to releasing stored material by way of the naddis is that you do not need to re-experience the stored emotional material again.  There is no doubt that strong emotions can help stir us, and I have known releases that were very emotional, and worked because they were emotional, but there is also a very direct way to simply release the block in the energy body and poof, gone.  The trap of feeling as though you have to “wrestle” with your emotions packed into various places in your body is that it can keep you caught in its thrall instead of simply letting it go. We have all in some way or another gotten addicted to how our mass of blocked material has made us feel.  It is the devil that we know and when it comes to letting it go, it can be hard.  it is also the way we come to know our authentic selves.  Like grain being threshed, the chaff gets blown away in the wind.  We then realize it wasn’t necessary after all, and may have been a big part of why we have had the problem we have had.  It is this chaff that often tells us who we need to be even if it does not fit us, and when it comes to relating to others, being able to be ourselves is pretty important. When other people focus on that chaff and fall in love with it, we wind up with some explaining to do. Right? Why not be true blue, or work to get that way.  So much happier.  Content.  Safe in the company of others who are like-minded.

So if you are going through awakening and go deep into meditation and are used to and comfortable with using your inner sight, the third eye to see your body, try looking down into the meridians and zooming in on them, especially when you are in a deep state of meditation and see what you see.

I’ll be taking a closer look and hopefully it will be something that will help our healers understand the energy body even more.

This was what I wanted to drive home in my last post….which was that now as I get down to the root chakra and heal it more intensively, something has emerged for me about it and how important the root is.  It’s a foundation….I was not able to really see how much of a rock it is in our lives.  I have realized how important it is to build a good foundation with it. Now what that foundation looks like for you I can’t say. What fulfills you and bring you wonder and a good life perhaps. It is different for all of us because we are all different.  For me, I know that very recently with the healing and movement of old blocks from my root and sacral that it has allowed me to have a clearer view into that part of my energy body.  Knots tend to obscure some. I knew but did not know.

At a certain point all energy flows into a vast current of energy.  All energy from the planet, from each organism, from all life both physical and non flows into a vast surging and churning sea.  It goes from small to big to gigantic.  You can’t believe how huge it gets.  You realize that all of this is this hum of energy….we want to divide things out and say this is sexual energy and this is not and this is third eye chakra energy and….and really, it’s so much like clay.  You can knead it into any form you want and we fool ourselves with thinking that any part of it is any different from any other part or vibration.  It is all clay.  Some make teapots out of it, others make white rabbits.  It’s all CLAY.  You see?  I focused on my root being so powerfully sexually that I lost sight of its many other facets.  I had shoved down so much hurt into my lower regions that it lodged there like most people do and was turned into energetic fossils, forming stony motes in my soft energy body that hurt once kundalini turned on.  Ouch!

I think that I thought I would somehow lose something if I lost the sexual energy, so I kept it in a place where it was less than healed.  It was the last thing I was able to let go of.  It was perhaps the one thing that gave me joy and bliss but that also was forbidden and was turned raw by the built up or latent pain from the past, the shame and hurt.  What is so interesting, though, is just how much more dimensional the root has begun to appear to me.  It is so much more than just sexual or survival.  It is a certain earthy charisma, it is a vibrance that feels really good to be around. It is also the essence of abundance.  It is magnetic and if you just let it flow, this force can be felt in your body in amazing ways.  Breaking free from the old strictures is wonderful.  For me, for some reason, this step was not a sudden dropping away of the veils as has happened in the other releases of old karmic material or energy knots in my light body.  This one seems to need to be forged anew.  It seems to need or something in me knows this basic part of me had gotten misshapen over time.  But it is alright; it is all clay, right?  So day by day I keep working at it, trying to not repeat the mistakes of the past and learn from all of this that has come before me.  The idea that in changing we will lose something is itself incorrect.  It happened to me with this misnomer called “ego death” which wasn’t a death at all, and it has happened with releasing old blocks.  Something in me thought I would no longer be me even though it also knew that no, that is not what is happening in letting go….I am revealing a deeper self, my authentic self perhaps for the first time and THAT self absolutely shimmers with all sorts of energy.  It just gushes with energy all the time.

(Its wonderful)

Spiritual broad life force….sensuality, sexuality, mental energy, and more all bend out of, split from and move back into this giant current.  It can be pitched to become sensual, pitched to be sexual.  It is we who do this.  It is itself the entirety of all things…..somehow I know this is so.

I don’t expect it to be perfect, but I do expect to feel perfectly about it.

There was a time when I lived for others and told myself I was selfless. Then I realized I was living for their approval and realized that I did not love myself half as much as I needed and they did not love me half as much as they could have.  I let that go and have been reorienting myself ever since. This need to be a victim has got to go!  Being around this energy breeds more of it and its a terribly disempowering attitude. Where did I go wrong, I wonder?  I had some splinter of a thing left in me that had to be worked through I guess.  I should be thankful for those who have helped to point out the problems that remained in me as a result of what I have attracted.

I think that unless you are able to take responsibility for what you have created in your life, you wont ever really get to a place where you are a conscious co-creator.  As long as you shirk your responsibility for your own experience means you can’t touch fully how the energy drives through you from an atomic to cosmic level. For those who cannot, they are too busy handing their power over to someone else for one reason or another.  Then it becomes everyone elses fault for just about everything.

Pound pound pound, I forge the dross from this iron will.  What shall I create?  Something marvelous!

kundlini2I have been going to have reiki treatments recently to assist with some clearing in my chakras, and my energy field in general.  There is a lot of talk about chakra clearing and chakra meditation.  It is useful to know, though, that your whole body is a vast network of criss-crossing energy lines that go all the way down to the atomic level.  If you were to see your energy field, you would look like a densely packed fibrous body of light, with branches that are big, like arteries, but also with a very fine system like capillaries.  Where energy draws towards the trunk of the body, there are vortices of energy that are called chakras.  There are many many more than the seven we normally talk about, but that is mostly because people aren’t as aware of them, but they are there nonetheless.

All throughout this body of light, energy flows. It seems that anything that we do not experience fully and acknowledge completely emotionally winds up getting lodged in the same way that a splinter or scar exists in the body.  When I began this process of awakening almost seven years ago, I knew next to nothing about Chinese medicine and when I hear that the light body stores old memory, I thought that was a little funny. Didn’t the brain do that?  I am sorry to say that up until that time, I had been seeing auras and reading energy for years.  I had been seeing how the aura, which is in the body, would show or exhibit emotional states all over the body and I certainly learned to read this energy. It wasn’t until I awoke that I became aware of the phenomenon of releasing blocks.  These blocks are merely unprocessed emotion that gets lodged in the energy body.  Once you are able to go down deep into the very block, you can release it. There are a number of methods I was shown how to use by none other than the intelligent energy that has been living in my bod all these years.

Having the reiki reminds me again how these blocks contain memory in them.  Last week I was able to go back into the first year or less of my life.  This was pretty amazing given that I have no memories of my first year of life.  Its just a haze to me.  However, whenever I dig up a block and release it, its almost like uncorking some ancient emotion that I feel again perhaps for the first time.  I was speaking to a friend today while taking a break between teaching my classes at the university how I had encountered this last block and how I had actually KNOWN that the problem that the block was existed all these years but somehow in my own physiology and energy field, I seemed to need to experience the actual  feeling directly instead of having a version of it resting in my awareness.

Isn’t that kind of weird?  To me, it actually feels like the block is a living being, locked in ice and waiting to be let go like some KundaliniMastadon whose organs are preserved and all that is needed is a careful electrical jolt to get the creature up and moving again. In a real way, though, this was what this last release was all about.  I KNEW that I hadn’t grieved my father’s passing as an infant.  Of course.  That is obvious, right?  And yet, deep inside the block there was this very specific feeling or awareness that lived in the pit of it.  When I felt THAT, I encountered a week-long process of grieving ina powerful way.  Call it speed grieving if you wish, because that is just what it felt like. Long since dead, I had to get on with it and not stand on ceremony. I was raw for about five days and slowly began to feel more healed from the ordeal.

So I know that I am not any different from the rest of you.  I know that others who have gone through the release process have also described allowing themselves to really FEEL the blocked energy as a way to help move the energy. This works, but it assumes you know how to access the energy.  Its not always possible.  There are other ways to access these blocks, and each is about as useful as any other.

WHile feeling deep into the block is one way, another way is to remain aloof, to allow the Observer part of you to come to the fore.  This Observer is actually very detached and it may help you to allow yourself to feel the same sense of detachment that comes with the Observer,  By allowing yourself to watch everything as though it is just a play, you can watch and see, but not become emotionally enmeshed in what is happening in front of you. Being able to step back like this is useful because it allows the focus of awareness to be present in the healing process, and while it may seem crazy, I have observed that it is observation or awareness being brought into the moment that serves to heal these blocks. Interestingly, the folks doing the reiki on me were saying the same thing.  I never learned this concept in any book, I was taught it by kundalini itself. It showed me years ago that my job was to SEE the block.  Just SEE itl in time, the block will go away.  If you can imagine that just behind your eyes is an infinite consciousness using your eyes to see through you, you can actually begin to allow more of the infinite through because…..that is exactly what is happening!  The method used to dissolve blocks is not to think it but FEEL it.  Thinking it or rationalizing is a very limited activity and is good for solving small problems like how to fix the kitchen sink but is really horrible at being able to divine the core of an issue that might stretch back lifetimes for you. It is the feeling self that must be enlisted for this.  I know; curious that I was just speaking of being aloof. Think of it as using your eyesight to SEE a problem but not get enmeshed in it.

There is another method for releasing blocks and this is movement.  Movement itself can be divided into several different classes.  One is shaking. Shaking has been shown to help release trauma stored in the body. It was first observed in animals that had been attacked by large prey animals.  Turns out, humans also use this method without realizing it when releasing old trauma sometimes. The other form of movement is the kind of movement found in the eastern traditions of Chi Gung and Tai Qi.  Both methods are designed to help move energy and eliminate blocks. Both are gentle workouts for the body and have been shown to bring a variety of health benefits. For anyone dealing with a backlog of blocks or who is aware of the blocks more than the average person, I would suggest keeping with a form of movement like Qi Gung and staying with it for at least a month with one or two session per week.  This is because some clearings take time to happen as well as once clearing does happen, you can sometimes get more clearings as a result of one clearing. Everything affects everything else.

There are a lot of very good visualizations to try when releasing blocks.  One is to stare into the block and feel your gaze breaking it up.  Another is to imagine a large hand opening up instead of clenching. Another is to imagine a river that is flowing and carrying you with it.  You do not control anything, you let the river take you.  Yet another very good visualization is imagining that your body is like a conduit or straw and energy flows through you unimpeded.  You let go of trying to be in control but become more of an observer.  By doing this kind of work, you can begin to shift your focus so that you can help to facilitate the movement of energetic blocks in your system.

By studying and knowing the chakra system you can learn more about how to dissolve a block.  If energy is stuck in one center, say, the heart, you can meditate on what the heart does and how the heart might be blocked and how to release it. For example, when dealing with root issues, like I have, I have found that I have been feeling emotional energy surrounding things like survival, nurture, and even abundance and sexuality. I can begin to get a clue about why the material is blocked, but knowing the basics of the center wont always lead me to the block, I have to allow myself to just FEEL it.  Somewhere inside of you, you do know the content of every single block in your body, but we do a lot to filter all of that out from conscious awareness. That is why meditation can be so handy. It can help to bring back into focus those things more on the edge of your awareness.  It is known, for example, that the left hemisphere acts as a giant filtering agent and that by letting down our “guard” so to speak, we can begin to broaden our awareness and filter less.  When you filter less, you also feel a flow of energy.  You don’t necessarily have to focus on everything that moves by, but being in a place where you can observe is very helpful as I am sure you can imagine.  Its different, but a very good kind of different and is within your own abilities to try.

The advantage of clearing is that you can better feel and hear the flow of the universe in you. If you want to know cosmic consciousness, this is a good way to do it; by reducing the noise!  It allows you to feel more clearly and it also helps to erase karma.  Being able to reduce karma in your life is huge.  By releasing blocks you are releasing also the vibration that the energy that has exerted all this time.  You will find, bit by bit, that you will attract based more on what you feel you want and need instead of constantly getting stuck on a karmic merry-go-round with different faces and names but the same behaviors popping up over and over and over.  It isn’t the world that needs to change, it is merely conforming to what you are.  It is you that must change if you with to attract a different kind of world in your experience.  The really great thing is that you can!

Not long ago I was talking to someone who refers to me as her teacher about the process of letting go, of releasing old stored material in the light body, and of releasing energetic bonds to other people that are karmic in nature.  Curiously, a post popped up on this topic by this “student” in a search I did on kundalini here and it contained most of the material we had talked about as a way of releasing old material from the self. However, it had material we had not discussed and it was this added material that can actually cause more problems than it solves.

We very much love to have methods and techniques, but in truth, these methods are merely a way to guide feeling.  If you aren’t in touch with your feelings, you wont be doing the work. If you don’t understand WHY a given method is seeking to make you feel, then its possible that you wont feel what you need to feel. Period. The more alienated you are from your true self, your essential self (soul), the harder it is to do substantive work.  So, in this very simple way, learning how to FEEL is important. Techniques ONLY work if they succeed in helping you to FEEL in the right direction. That is really all any method achieves, no matter how much you might think that it does something else.  It is all about feeling, about tapping the light body so you can affect the change from the inside out.  Even mudras and kriyas, for example, which help to move energy, only go so far if they fail to assist you in reaching a given feeling.  It is true that the language of the cosmos is feeling. Mind is in there, but only as a tool for the much more vast feeling side of everything.

In awakening there is the issue of soul connections.  Some call these twin souls and rays and all the rest.  These drive powerful energy but they also can drive very strong energy that is less resolved and healed in people. I myself have observed some pretty crazy behavior in myself as well as others and can say that the value of reducing the blocks and karmic snares is that it helps to bring peace and awareness of who and what we are…..which is why we are here.  That, and to enjoy the view.

I am not going to teach you how to fish, I am going to teach you the essence of all fishing which means that under any and all circumstances, you will be able to catch a fish, even if you do not have a net or fishing pole.  You will be able to do so because you understand the root causes and essence behind the world of fish themselves. If this sounds good to you, maybe I have hooked you and can show you the substance behind the appearance.

The light body, which is the energetic matrix that makes up your nadis (energetic channels which are pronounced “nardees”) and chakras (vortices of energy), stores or contains everything that has happened to you.  While the brain may be seen as the memory banks of your self, the light body ( the Pranamayakosha in Hindu) actually stores the energetic potential of all emotional issues that have happened to you in your life as well as previous lives (this is the “physical evidence for and physical evidence of karma).  Anything that remains unresolved in you, for whatever reason, expresses itself as something we call a block.  This is an emotional hurdle we feel with something.  We actually attract people and events in our lives based on these blocks (and we also attract based on what is also NOT blocked too!) Because we are unable to see its fullest truth or reality, we most often ignore it or “shove it down” out of the way.  It remains, however, until the day that we deal with the issue. It also creates problems with our ability to manifest or attract the kind of life we say that we want.  As long as you remain divided within, however, you continue to attract based on a host of issues within you, one of which are the unresolved blocks. This is why you can WANT something but still not get it because you are not entirely resolved within yourself. You simply need to move the block and the energy will flow in the right way instead of manifesting the wrong things over and over.  Your energy body will then be a more perfect mirror of your thoughts wants and wishes!  Blocks create tension in the Pranamayakosha or light body, and then often express as distorted forms of the true self.  When focused in the root chakra, for example, it will result in distorted perception (we see people are sexual threats or feeding on us or wanting something from us that they may in truth not really want—we see it because we are projecting it and believe what we see).  It also results in very raw sexual energy instead of more refined experiences of the energy. It is because deep down we are holding on to something that is not true and this affects the pure energy that would otherwise be flowing through us (we are bending it or distorting it with our blocks—be a pure channel!).  To know the truth of what we are requires us to bring awareness into this knot or block of misunderstanding.  Here you will find the greatest of compassion, for this is sacred work.  Forget what you think you know and allow yourself to simply feel.  To do this, you MUST be simple. Jesus, who was himself awakened said you needed to be like a child.  And indeed you do.  This is not complicated.  Be like a child. Be simple.  You then will know the kingdom shining within yourself more clearly than ever before.

In awakening or in instances of powerful inner work, these blocks can be removed very quickly.  They can be removed by way of movement (massage work and Qi Gung) as well as by way of awareness and acceptance.  In the first case, you can have blocks removed by skilled body workers who know how to work body tissue and who can feel intuitively where these blocks are.  Most often this results in the person feeling or realizing sudden emotion which is then allowed to be released by feeling it fully.  There is another method, the one that I was describing to my “student” that goes hand in glove with all of this.  This method involves your feeling into yourself in a full way without pulling back from any emotion that might become dislodged or rise to the surface. There is a reason for this. In the method the student was offering, the method suggested actually masking feeling instead of feeling it completely.  You have to feel it completely before you can feel differently.  It is a small thing, but an important one. It is part of complete emotional release.

The whole reason why we have these blocks to begin with is because of how we have ignored and repressed emotions that have needed to be worked through. The key to all of this work is one simple thing and its awareness. If you can shine the light of awareness you WILL get it, you WILL resolve the issues.  Yes, you have material that is shoved down so deep that even you feel like you can’t get to it, but trust me on this one thing; simply putting your awareness and intent on a great mystery inside of you will eventually resolve the mystery.  The reason why this is so is because when you look at something, when you are shining your awareness into it, there is something much more than you which is aware  that is looking at what you think you see!  The Divine is looking out through you and sees all that you see, and furthermore, is a part of what you and I and everything else is!  The infinite is literally looking out through your eyes as you observe and it is this awareness (which you aren’t aware of!) which is what does the great work.  In fact, if you can trust me on this one seemingly impossible little admission, you can do remarkable things with your own spiritual work.  The only thing you have to do is to realize it and then give it a little space in your being to be.

This method works if you can be entirely honest and allow yourself to feel as deep into an old emotion as possible.  You really have to be honest here and just let yourself get down into it.  If you feel it half heartedly this will have the same effect as trimming weeds but not digging them up.  They will come back at a later date and perhaps even stronger.  Remember, the idea here is to not repress or deny your feelings.  Once you have done the release work you can then feel differently about a person you were connected to because what is in you has changed.  The wonderful thing that is a bonus is that you can actually make it easier for others who were connected to you in this common block to also heal.  It is a win-win.

This is the essence of the practice.  There are a number of ways to create the practice out of knowing how to feel.  One way is to use breath.  Another way is to use movement.  Another way is even more simpler and it involves another person bringing their own awareness to the issue (when you wont or can’t). This is the substance of yet another post, however.

All of this, at its very core, is about becoming more aware.  Aware that you are not powerless, aware that you can be anything you want to be, aware that you are part of the divine and no matter what happens, that will never change.  When you become aware or realize more fully who and what you are, your problems will cease to be and your opportunities will multiply.  Cross my heart.

Todays’ dialog is on the basis of the chakra system and how the system has a basis in the atom…..

I can tell you that there is a perfect system for uncovering all the latent material that needs to be dispensed with in order to live a fuller freer life.  In awakening, a shift happens; an energy which is itself aware runs all through you.  It dives down into your cells, invading every nook and cranny of you, filling each space, each seemingly empty forgotten space with awareness, a certain kind of awareness, which is itself bliss.  This is a powerful present form of sentience, and at first, it has caused many, including myself, some caution. For some, it has been too much and has driven people over the edge.  This is the one thing that is talked about in regards to the “dangers” of kundalini.  It is a lot to take in, and if you pull away from it in fear, then that fear is multiplied.  On the one hand, it can be a powerful way for you to see all of your own latent fear right in front of you, but unless you are able to step back a little and recognize this, then it pretty much winds up owning you and you are in a position of just responding. Reacting. “It” is out to get you.  For me, it was a bit like an 800 pound gorilla that would come into me and wrestle me while I resisted, not knowing WHY I was resisting, or why I was feeling so much pain.  The single most helpful thing for me was learning how to surrender, and to be honest, I really wasn’t a very surrendered person. I thought I had a pretty examined life on balance, but that really didn’t mean too much without the right “posture” in the face of this new phenomenon.  All through this process, though, the light body came on clearer and clearer and showed me, through discomfort, what needed attention.

The wisdom of the body, which I do not really see anymore as light body or physical body, but for now is a continuum that includes all bodies and states and capacities, has within it all you will need to know.  There is talk of “painbody” and while seeking to drop the pain body is important and very productive, it also serves to highlight what is in you that needs giving a good toss.  This is not a rational process but one related directly to feeling. Feeling is so important because it either stops the flow or it allows it. Getting a handle on this is a big thing, and painbody in the beginning will begin to teach you moment by moment how best to be by showing you how certain thoughts and feelings allow more energy in without restricting it which winds up making you feel blissful and good instead of pent-up and anxious.  It is a real trial by fire and the advantage also is that it will show you the linkage between your thoughts and feelings and how this regulates the output of a whole range of chemistry in the body.  Nothing in my life showed me more clearly how a small uncertainty in the back of my mind over years could have a very real effect on my body chemistry.  I was able to see how I could quiet the incessant flow of adrenaline and boost endorphins.  My body became like a giant lab experiment where I carefully observed what feeling states created what kind of chemistry in my body.  All of this was possible because kundalini was making everything highly intensified, as though a bright light had bee shone on my body and its interior processes. This experience resulted in what I know to be THE alchemy, and it is one that is won only by a near constant balancing act where I do not go too far in one direction or another and find the balance that I seem to need in order to keep sane with this force in my body and in my life.

So much of what happens early on is a contracting effect into the old structures of the psyche when kundalini hits.  If I fell into shame or depression or self deprecating states, I would feel this very painful sensation in my body.  It was in truth in my light body, but was instantly telegraphed or communicated to my physical body. The punishment, which I was exacting without realizing it, on myself, was through a pulling back from this perfect energy which could not be known while in a state like fear, anxiety, or anything negative.  Sure, kundalini was there, but it was as though it turned on a dime and served as fuel for the fire of something negative instead of positive. I could feel in my body, in the chakra centers, places that would hurt.  Most of these were constant in the sense that anytime I went through one of these contractions, the same pains were there flaring up in those same energy centers each time.  If i was able to clear something from a center, it would be gone forever.  But by drawing back into the old modes of the psyche, which namely involve the identification with the ego, this was like pulling a curtain on a very lovely episode of pure grace and balance. Over and over this drama unfolded until I slowly began to get it right, until my body would crave the joy and perfection over the dull dark realms of uncertainty and loss. What this process was doing was showing me how to be different, and in the process, it caused a kind of collapsing of ego where I simply no longer could keep it where it was.  I had to let it go, to let it be free to be in another place in the garden of my awareness.  It had to.  I could not keep this pain stuff up for too long.

You can feel these contractions even after the collapse of the old egoic positioning, but they are not as intense, at least not in my current experience. However, by being able to get motivated by the discomfort I sometimes feel, I have a very clear and unequivocal method for taking care of cleaning out the backlog, what I call “the inventory” which is essentially karmic.  The process is in clearing this all out an returning to a sounder more peaceful form of awareness.  Still human, still imperfect, still working  on things….but now there is this sense of having worked through lifetimes of junk that has been hanging around my neck for ages.  Here, now, there is a real chance for an authentic change to take place that will lead to a better way of life.

The issues that lay in the light body are also tied into the physical body, and there are ways to use movement to help clear these up, to help them to move on.  This is a rather fascinating area of study that is going on and when I caught on to the effect that movement had for me, it helped to bring on one of the biggest series of releases that I had in my journey through all of this.  There is also research emerging that supports that even in the animal kingdom, movement plays a key role in helping us to release these seemingly nonphysical traumas that exist in the energetic blueprint of our body memory.  The body itself carries a host of material in it, and what we think we know about the body is mostly what scientists have discovered.  Part of this has put the brain front and center as the organ for processing information, feelings, and memory, and yet we are learning that this is not entirely so. The heart, for example, produces more electrical signals that go to the brain that signals coming from the brain to the heart. This isn’t just electricity, but signal processing that is similar to the signals coming from the brain, which is why scientists studying this have said that the heart appears to have some form of intelligence. We speak of the heart breaking, a feeling in our gut, for example, and all of this points to how we do indeed use the body to process information. Ida Rolf, known for her aggressive deep tissue work found that she could help people to release old pent-up emotion by working deep into physical tissues. A flood of emotion would most often come and then be gone.

I experienced this same effect when I had someone who worked on my shoulder, the place of a pretty serious injury that was tied into the events that led up to my divorce.  Without going into the hairy details, I found myself suddenly flooded with an unrecognized emotion of betrayal that swept through me and then was gone. It had been stored in the injured shoulder all that time, and was then released through careful manipulation of the tissues within the shoulder.  Using Qi Gung (also spelled Gong) served to release a lot of material, a process that felt very uncomfortable at first.  It was as though I had stirred up some ancient toxins and felt clammy and sick until they had fully passed.  The effect was nausea and a sense of dread.  My though was that I would feel renewed, and while this is true, it took a little time for this to settle into my experience. So do not be surprised if in doing work like this that there is some residual effects that may not seem at first to be positive.  Its a bit like taking medicine that first makes you feel sick but ultimately makes you feel much better.

The advantage to this method of clearing out old material is that you don’t even need to know or relive the past in order to let it go.  Yes, there may be a sweep of emotion, and this may well serve the purpose of acknowledging it, which may not have been done at the scene of the crime, so to speak.  By not denying feeling, by not shoving it down, this backlog, I feel, can be greatly curtailed going forward if not entirely eliminated.

Going forward, I now acknowledge my feelings.  I let myself feel these storms of emotion when it comes to my reactions with others. I also do not marinate in them.  I let the feelings come, I see them as they are, and I let them breeze on through me.  If I find myself reflecting in an anxious way over something, I ask myself what I am afraid of and try to acknowledge and feel all of this while asking myself that root of the problem.  The answer does not always come right away, but the point is I remain open to something that might happen a day or week or month later that will help bring me to a sense of clearing and completion. This isn’t just about forgiving people.  So often we think we have to forgive people to be free from our past haunts.  This might help, but it has been my experience that all of this ultimately comes back to me due to how I chose to react or feel about something.  The first freedom may be in forgiving others, but the final freedom is in forgiving ourselves.  It is this freedom that is the one that brings the greatest and most final end to old problems or issues.  This is so because it is seen, recognized, and then sent on its way in a sense.  It no longer hangs out in your energy field as a kind of virus turning and looping and straining the energy field. With things like this moving in you, it will be hard to get the things you want in a way that does not cause problems simply because there is a glitch in the feeling upon its creation or wishing. You might be like me and be able to manifest great things that wind up having a glitch in them that make them difficult instead of easy.  I knew that I could manifest anything I needed, but I harbored some feeling like maybe I was not deserving of it, or that there was always a price to be paid.  This was born out by my experience.  The big things had always been hard-won, but I never considered I was simply creating this difficulty. Once I looked at this, I discovered a fear that I was able to remove, and this fear blocked my ability to love myself. Once that happened, events began to take place that did not have these same glitches in them.  I had to clear up a feeling in myself, a kind of belief of sorts, and when I did, the character of events changed. Being aware of how your own energy impacts events is a big move in life, and being able to see good examples of it can also help in moving you forward just as it did for me.

The body will provide you with all the signals that you need to come to grips with everything that may be holding you back.  Once awakening comes, all of this becomes much more vivid, and while it may be hard initially, it can also be a saving grace for how clearly it can identify things for you that need work. The curious thing is that the rational mind has a part to play that can keep you out of the heavy emotional tangle that this can sometimes represent.  Its role, though, is limited, but very effective.  It can allow you to stand back and as long as you can be honest with yourself, you have a good chance of being in a place where you can see things for how they are instead of how you feel.  This serves, at least for me, as the first possible step in eliminating blocks.  The rest involves grace and a willingness to feel in a way you might not have felt before.  This is the new day dawning when this happens, and it is a very hopeful thing.
