Love the ideas presented by children as to what poetry is… “An Egg With a Horse in It”. I have found in the 30 years of counseling clients going through change, it is powerful to find metaphors that mirror our inner state. I call my process Cocoon to Butterfly, and ask the client to draw an image of their current reality (cocoon they are in) and their dream of who they want to be (the butterfly of their own becoming). The images and words and often poetry-like metaphors guide them as sign posts on their journey. What does your inner poetry look like?
